Bars to meet people while solo

Hi all! 31M, recently out of a LTR and just moved from Harlem to Astoria in April.

Most of my friends are busy tonight and haven’t yet met anyone in Astoria. Debating staying in but a little restless and haven’t yet explored much of the Astoria nightlife.

What’s a good bar in the area to show up alone as a single man? Open to friends, open to meeting single women, whatever!

Monk parakeet in Astoria Park!

Moved to Astoria last month and love how many birds there are in the park. Saw this VERY loud parakeet flying back and forth on the Great Lawn.

Looking for a good throw blanket for my blue couch (blood orange pillows) that’s under $50 and also ideally non-synthetic. Maybe that doesn’t exist, but looking for recommendations!

Hi all,

Have a bit of a complicated situation that I need some advice on in terms of security deposit.

My then-wife and I moved into a unit Winter 2025 and paid a $3000 security deposit on a unit. I was on the lease alone I believe due to having a higher credit score.

The landlord was a disaster and ending up getting foreclosed (or in the process of) for failing to pay loans/mortgage/etc. and so an Ohio management company took over and we went to a month-to-month lease.

Fast forward to February, my ex-wife and I separated and I moved out in April. I contacted the Ohio management company and they said the landlord never gave them our security deposit and that was the end of the call essentially.

So what do I do here? Do I have to wait for my ex-wife to move out of the unit to try to get the money? Since I was on the lease and no longer, do I get it now? Is the management company on the hook for the property they’ve taken over or do I need to go after the landlord who no longer owns the property? How do I get my money back?

Thanks!

I’m Team #1…..giving up Caleb Williams is pretty tough but Love is a fine mid-range QB and Williams is a top 20 WR + a late 1st even in a weak draft for him and a JAG in Malik Washington.

Definitely a big gamble, especially given my QBs are now Love, Shough, and Young, but my starting FLEX’s were really looking rough…..some combo of Godwin, Pearsall, Aaron Jones, Dowdle, Jalen McMilan.
