Spicy Moon Brooklyn location?

Spicy Moon’s website states they will be opening in Brooklyn soon. A friend said they’re opening in Fort Greene. Does anyone know where in Fort Greene, assuming that’s the neighborhood where we’ll finally get a Spicy Moon in Brooklyn?

ETA: I think it’s more likely that it’s opening on Flushing in Bed-Stuy. I looked up the LLCs used by Spicy Moon on the Dept. of State’s website: https://apps.dos.ny.gov/publicInquiry/EntityListDisplay

20X HOSPITALITY AT BOWERY LLC’s service address is the same as the Bowery Spicy Moon (265 Bowery). 20X HOSPITALITY AT LONG ISLAND CITY LLC’s service address is at 4504 Pearson St. 20X HOSPITALITY BROOKLYN LLC’s service address is at 676 Flushing Ave.

Atlantic Terminal B Manhattan-bound elevator

I started using crutches recently and know there’s an elevator on the Manhattan-bound B platform, but I can’t picture where it’s located on the mezzanine/street level or figure out the best entrance at Atlantic Terminal to get to it. I’ve asked the MTA app chat and they were no help and told me about an escalator to the platform, which doesn’t exist and, of course, doesn’t help a wheelchair user. (So much for the lawsuit to make the system accessible!)

If I enter via the Hanson Place elevators, do I need to get an elevator via the LIRR platforms? Or should I enter via the Barclays Center entrance?

Femoral neck stress reaction pain exists now that I’ve been on crutches a full week

I had practically zero odd sensations in my hip the day I was diagnosed with a femoral neck stress reaction. I had taken 2.5 months off from running, cross trained, went to weekly PT, etc. I’m one week into this crutch journey and my hip feels worse now. Have others experienced this? Perhaps mine has progressed to a fracture in the past week? I’ve been at home mostly and am trying to be sedentary.

Another femoral stress reaction post

I was just diagnosed two days ago with a femoral stress reaction. I stopped running in mid-April, moved to the elliptical, and kept up with lower body strength work and going to weekly PT. My PT eventually was surprised by how long my recovery was taking and suggested imaging. Xray in early June showed nothing. I was feeling great but not 100%. I did a single leg hop test three days ago and felt great. I did 1 min run/walk on the treadmill the morning of my MRI. My GP thought my long recovery was also hormone related — I’m perimenopausal and started progesterone 2.5 weeks ago and an estradiol patch after I got home from the MRI.

I was shocked to get this diagnosis two days ago. This weekend, I’ve just been staying in bed later and moving to the couch. I’m going to see a different ortho in 1.5 weeks and I’m hoping she’ll tell me I can come off the crutches sooner. (My ortho who ordered the MRI hasn’t been able to talk to me by phone, so that’s a main reason I’m looking to see someone else.)

Part of me is concerned I made this worse by going to PT and continuing with strength training. My PT asked me if I felt pain doing strength, and I didn’t. In hindsight, I didn’t feel nothing, but it wasn’t pain. Maybe I (like other women) just have a skewed view of pain since we deal with pain regularly?!

I live alone and this is…a lot. Today, I need to figure out food delivery and how to do laundry — I live in an old building without in-unit laundry. Luckily, there is a laundry room in the basement and I have an elevator. But I’m not sure yet if I even want to attempt it. (I have friends but don’t want to bother anyone until I know I can’t do things myself.)

Any advice for maintaining decent mental health? I’ve dealt well with not running for 2.5 months by going to the gym most mornings. I’m now a bit lost.

Any perimenopausal, high risk for breast cancer folks dealing with long overuse injury recovery and on hormones?

I’m 49 and high risk for breast cancer. I’m a patient in a high risk screening program at a top cancer hospital in NYC. I’m definitely perimenopausal (inconsistent periods, sleep disturbances). I ran a great half on March 15. Started developing mild muscle pain in my quads as I continued to train for a mid-April half. My last long run was April 18. I felt pain in my front hip that got much worse the next few days. Before this happened, I was about to graduate from PT, but here I am, still going to weekly PT. The pain is vastly improved, but my PT continues to tell me not to run until there’s no pain at all. My PT is surprised by my long recovery and thinks it’s hormone related. I’m going to an ortho on Monday to discuss/get imaging to be safe.

My primary care physician thinks it is, too, and she’s been doing research into hormone therapy for high risk breast cancer patients. I wasn’t comfortable getting on HRT back in April when I saw my PCP last, but I’m all for it now. I’ve been going to the gym most days since I started my running break and I’m sick of the elliptical but keep using it (plus weights).

This background leads to my questions for those in a similar demographic to me:

Are you on hormones?

Have you seen improvement in running recovery?

What are you on?

What advice do you have for me?

p.s.—I can’t get back in to see my PCP until late August since she’s popular. That’s too late for me. I’m going to see a PA in her practice in about 1.5 weeks and hope that might help me see my PCP sooner. I’m also considering going to Midi to get on hormones.
