How to land a good job after post grad. TXST BBA in cis

Hey y'all so I am currently in school for BBA in computer information systems but im scared reading how a lot of business degrees aren't even needed for jobs and they make no money now I don't have the highest gpa. I don't have connections I barely opened linked in and handshake. I've just been reading that w/o internships it's basically being doomed I've been applying but haven't gotten anything.
Now I do have at least 5 years of working in various areas like subbing, customer service and front desk. I know that's not tech but I can work with people there's now events coming up for school to network but I want to know how to max my abilities to land a good job after graduating I've been reading that the best degrees just lead to health care cause they always have jobs and now I'm regretting a business degree rn and omg I'm just nervous for the future of not landing something to live comfortably. I don't have kids and I'm not married I'm 22 but I think about life ALOT.

22 girly ! PEOPLE OVER 30+ please give me some life advice

Recently, I’ve been thinking so much about careers, and I’ve finally been able to be honest with myself: I’ve never asked this out loud, but really, what is next in life?
Currently, I’m having a little crisis trying to continue school and work. I do school online, which I think is affecting me a lot. I know what’s next is graduation and working, but I’ve been working since I was 17, and I know y’all are going to hate this, but I’m a bit tired. After high school, I’ve noticed how life goes soooo fast.
I just turned 22, and I want to ask older people: what do I do to set myself up for success? Currently, I haven’t landed a job with any benefits, so I don’t have anything like a 401(k) going on at all.
All I really do is kind of stay at home. I don’t have many friends, and I genuinely want to ask for life advice: what do I do with my life?
I’m not dating or talking to any guys, and I really haven’t attracted someone whose path I would like to be a part of. Sometimes I enjoy being by myself, but sometimes I feel like something is wrong with me because I see so many girlies going on dates or doing fun activities with their boyfriends, and I wish I could also attract someone good.
PS: I’m super happy for them, and I’m not jealous at all, but I do wonder why I don’t attract guys who are doing something with their lives, like working toward a career or going to school. Do y’all know what I mean?
PS: This is a dump. I just want to know what tips y’all have. There are so many questions, but I also want to hear it all. THANK YOU FOR READING. ❤️

Jobs HIRING ? $22+

Hey Everyone!

Does anyone know of companies in the Austin/Manor area that are actually hiring for positions paying $22+/hour?
I’m honestly feeling stuck. I’ve been applying through company websites, Indeed, and some directly with employers but I’m either getting very low offers like $16/17 or not hearing back.
I have:
5 years of work experience
Several years of customer service experience
Front office/administrative experience
Around 3 years as a substitute teacher
Experience working with children
BLS certification
Three associate degrees general studies , health sciences & psychology
I’m open to almost anything at this point. Administrative assistant, executive assistant, receptionist, secretary, office coordinator, construction office, manufacturing, healthcare administration, customer service—I really don’t mind changing industries. I also don’t mind working overtime.
I’ve already tried applying to places like Tesla production associate but got rejected 1 time I haven’t tried again, and looked into becoming an RBT, but that didn’t work out since they pay very low 16/17 an hour
If you know of companies that are genuinely hiring right now for $22+/hour or more, I’d really appreciate any recommendations. I’m open to ideas and just looking for a solid full-time opportunity. Thank you!

The reason why I ask for $22+ is because I was making $23 but the company I worked for just removed 2 pay bonuses that bumped me up and that lowered my hourly pay and would like a switch that can make me the pay I had BEFORE.

BBA in CIS or Management

I’m currently in a tough situation trying to decide what to major in. I took about a year off from school to finish my nursing prerequisites, but now I’m at the point where I honestly just want to graduate.
A little background: I previously withdrew from university and went back to community college. While looking at accelerated degree options, I narrowed it down to Business, but now I’m stuck deciding between a BBA in Management and CIS.
I know some of you are probably thinking, “This person is all over the place,” and honestly… you’re not wrong. 😅 I wasn’t the smartest kid growing up and never thought college was for me. I graduated high school without a real plan, and now at 22 I’m trying to figure out what degree will set me up best for the future.
I’ve been taking community college classes since I was 17–18 and have earned three associate degrees, so my college journey has definitely been unconventional. Lately I’ve been reading a lot about how tough the job market is, and it’s making me even more nervous about choosing the wrong major.
For anyone with experience, which degree do you think has better long-term opportunities: BBA in Management or CIS? Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Any Job Recommendations?

Any Job recommendations ?

Hi everyone! I’m looking for some career advice and job recommendations.
I currently have three associate degrees (General Studies, Health Sciences, and Psychology), a BLS certification, and about 2.5 years of experience working with kids as a substitute teacher.
I’ve applied to a lot of Patient Care Technician positions but unfortunately keep getting denied due to lack of experience. I was making about $23/hour as a substitute teacher, but due to recent budget cuts and changes to stipends, my pay has been affected.

Does anyone have recommendations for jobs that pay around $23/hour or more with my background? I’m open to different fields and would really appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!
PS: it can be any job , it doesn’t have to be working with kids exactly.

ABSN program stats

Hello everyone! I hope you’re all doing well.
I’m looking for some advice and would really appreciate any insight you can share. Please be kind, as this is my first time asking about this.

Currently, I’m working on finishing my bachelor’s degree. My overall GPA is a 3.6, and I have A’s in 4 out of my 5 science prerequisite courses. I haven’t completed my bachelor’s yet, but I spoke with a representative at TT who told me that I only need to have my CNA certification and bachelor’s degree completed before starting the program.
I understand the program is very competitive and that they only accept around 30 to 40 students each cohort. Because of that, I wanted to ask what my chances might realistically look like and whether there is anything I can do to strengthen my application.
One thing that concerns me is that I don’t have any healthcare experience. However, I do have about 3 years of experience as a substitute teacher, which has allowed me to balance work while attending school full time.
I’m currently looking at programs in the Austin and San Antonio areas and would love to hear any advice, experiences, or recommendations from those who have gone through the application process.

Thank you so much to anyone who takes the time to respond. I truly appreciate it!

Hey everyone I hope everyone is well! I wanted to ask for some opinions or comments. Honestly, I am currently taking NURS3363 and am a transfer student to UTA. I was hoping to get some overall opinions. I have a 3.5 GPA and a 4.0 in sciences. I have 4 C’s in HIST 1301, 1302, and a government class. I’m not sure, but I spoke to an advisor who told me to prepare for the worst, asa transfer it made me kind of discouraged and lowered my expectations which I completely understand that it's realistic I'm not mad or anything. Students or anyone else. Is it realistic for me to get in by Spring 2027? I am not partnered. I applied as a PCT with no experience and was rejected like 15 times. I had one interview but wasn’t able to land the job. Any opinions? Is it realistic without being partnered? If not, any tips? I’m in the Austin area, not DFW.

Edit : I also don't have a previous bachelors

Hey everyone, I wanted to see if I could get some advice or opinions.

I’m currently trying to get into Ascension in Austin for a PCT job. I’ve applied to over 20 positions and keep getting rejected.

At one point, I applied for a night shift PCT job without realizing it was nights. I apologized to the recruiter and explained that I’m in school full-time and really need a day shift. She told me I could call back anytime if I became interested in that position.

After thinking about it, I called back the following Monday but didn’t hear anything for about a week and a half. Then she reached out and offered me an interview for a pulmonary PCT position the next day. I went to the interview and felt like it went well. I did mention that I couldn’t work weekends because of school, and a friend later told me that might have hurt my chances.

About 10 days later, my application status changed to “not selected.”

For context, I have almost 3 years of substitute teaching experience in different classrooms and with various disabilities, along with front office experience. I also included that I’ve been working part-time as a nanny for nearly 3 years. I am also BLS certified, but I understand that I don’t yet have bedside or hospital experience.

Despite this, I keep getting rejected from PCT roles at Ascension. I even recently applied for a front office position and was rejected in less than 24 hours.

I also tried reaching out to the recruiter to thank her for the interview and ask for feedback or tips, but I didn’t receive a response. At this point, I’m just wondering if there’s something I should be doing differently or focusing on. Any advice or suggestions would be really appreciated
