I’m wondering who to pull for xiao, but I only have enough wishes to get one or the other. Which is better for xiao? I know they are more effective together but again, I can’t do that.
This is my first time trying to make a sourdough starter. It’s been about 5 days and i’m using a 40oz mason jar. I started it off with 1/2 cup of flour + 1/2 cup of warm water, then everyday since then ive been discarding half and adding 1/4 cup of flour + 1/4 cup of warm water. I noticed earlier today that the side of the jar, that had some of the starter smeared on it, was growing some darkish mold spots. What should I do about this? What should I change? Any tips on what to do next time if I have to discard it?
