I’m in the midst of sending emails to find a lab that’s willing to take me before I apply for a thesis-based Masters in Canada.

I sent out a ton of emails (all personalized, of course) and so far I’ve only gotten rejections. Most, however, have been left unanswered. I feel as though I’m pretty qualified as I have a good GPA and have ~3 years of solid wet-lab research. So I’m getting pretty worried that maybe I overlooked something or I’m just not as good of an applicant as I thought.

It has only been a few days since I sent the email, so I wanted to ask: how long until I can consider myself rejected from a lab?

I’m about to get a B+ in a psych class. I go to university in the US, so a B+ is around an 87, so I’m not sure how that will convert to the Canadian system. The funny thing is that I was on track to get an A+ in the class, but I forgot to do an assignment that’s mandated by the university. So the maximum grade possible I can get is a B+. Sucks considering the amount of work I put into the class.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first B I’ve gotten. I got one last semester in a much more important class, so I’m wondering if it’s worth it to withdraw from this one in order to avoid another B on my transcript. Especially since, as I understand it, Bs look much worse in the Canadian grading system compared to the American system. I don’t know how it would look to medical schools if I got two Bs in a row.

Also, I’m curious as to what year summer classes count towards. I know that some medical schools (like UBC) can exempt certain years from consideration, so it would be useful if this summer was counted as part of the previous year. If anyone could clarify whether this is the case, that would be great.

Honestly, I’m beating myself up over this mistake and I feel terrible. I hope I didn’t fuck myself over too much.

Long story short I'm not considered IP anywhere. After I graduate, I can move to any province. As such, I'm wondering what province would make it the easiest to get into medical school.

I'm a bit worried about getting into medical school as my GPA might take a hit from the conversion from the US grading system to the Canadian grading system. I have all As and A+s (93+) except 1 B- in Organic Chemistry II (yes I know that's bad). My ECs are also pretty good, but probably kind of generic and not as good as the frankly insane stuff I've seen on here. I have not taken the MCAT yet, but hoping for a 520+.

Initially, Alberta seemed like it could be a good option (as it has 2 medical schools) but after a bit of research I found that Alberta is much more competitive than I thought it was. Thus, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and the maritimes are the best to be IP in. However, the maritimes seem to have pretty stringent IP rules. Also, Ontario's new 95% rule could make being IP valuable, especially since it has so many schools. But afaik we don't have the data on the effect this has had yet.

If any of you have any suggestions or input, I would really appreciate it.

I guess I've been living under a rock because I didn't even know these two games came out. I've played all the main LiS games (LiS1, LiS2, LiS True Colors) and really liked all of them. LiS1 was such an amazing game and experience and LiS2 was almost as good for me.

That being said, is it worth getting Double Exposure and Reunion? I thought the story was ended pretty well in LiS1, but I definitely wouldn't mind getting to see more. The question is: how do they compare to the other LiS games? Also, since the games are on sale via steam I'd like to know if it's worth the price now ($45 for both).

I haven't heard anything despite it being over a week since I purchased the item. I registered the GPU on the website and submitted a support ticket but have got no response so far. Does anyone know how to get the code/redeem it? I understand it can take up to "14 days" but that seems like a ridiculously long time for a digital game code.

I previously had all As and A+s (which means all 93+ on a numerical scale) but I just got my grades back for this semester and received a B- in Organic Chemistry. I've been tracking the visa bulletin for a while now. My parents' PD is around Feb 1st 2015 for both EB2 and EB3 India and I had hope when May's visa bulletin finally went got to 2014. But, lo and behold EB2 regressed 9 fucking months. I guess I'm making this post looking for some reassuring words, but I don't know. Maybe I need advice on how to prepare for immigration to another country myself.

I have until early 2028 (~Jan-March 2028) before I officially age out due to how long my parents' initial application was pending for, but my H4 expires before then (in college so I'm working on transitioning to F1). I can tell you, it has not been easy to deal with the ups and downs of immigration and I honestly just want to leave the country and get it over with. But I don't really have anywhere to go.
