EB-2 vs EB-3 for Accountant — Similar Experiences?

Hi everyone, I’m asking on behalf of a friend.

He has:

  • Master’s in Business/Accounting from his home country
  • MBA from the U.S.
  • 10+ years of accounting experience
  • Currently working as an Accountant in Texas, earning around $80K
  • Employer is willing to sponsor his green card

The PERM process has not started yet — not even the PWD has been filed. However, the immigration attorney is recommending EB-3, while my friend believes he may qualify for EB-2 (PERM-based, not NIW) based on his education and experience.

Has anyone with a similar accounting/finance background, advanced degree, and 8–10+ years of experience successfully pursued EB-2?

If so, what were the requirements listed for your PERM position, and how did you discuss EB-2 vs. EB-3 with your attorney?

Any similar experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Can I use end client letter to prove the skills gained during my consulting company experience for perm i140 filing?

Hi everyone, my perm just got certified, and my attorney let me collect the skill verification letter, however, one of my previous employers is consulting company, and the hr and coworkers don’t have any details on my work done at end client. Without this experience, it would be hard to meet the perm requirements.

Can I use consulting company’s letter without duties to show the time spent at my client + my end client manager testifying the skills used and job duties during my end client? Client manager has the firsthand knowledge of my work, not sure if this could cause any problems. Thanks in advance for sharing any similar experiences!

EB-2 ROW I-485 – Anyone Waiting After RFE Response + Silent Updates?

Looking for anyone with a similar EB-2 ROW I-485 timeline:

  • PD: 12/19/2023
  • I-485 filed: 02/13/2026
  • Biometrics: 03/17/2026
  • FO: Los Angeles
  • RFE issued: 06/18/2026
  • RFE: Birth certificate/name translation discrepancy
  • RFE response received: 07/15/2026
  • 08/13: I-485 and I-485J both received silent updates within about a minute

USCIS told me to allow 60 days from 07/15 for an update/decision.

Anyone have a similar post-RFE timeline? How long after your RFE response or silent updates did you get approved? Thanks!

FB visa issue for Q1 FY26 is released. 46600 Vs Q1 FY2025 49500

Q1 of FY26 is already 3K less compared to last FY Q1. Remember these numbers are without the ban.

75 Countries ban started sometime in Jan'2026. Looks like spill over to the tune of 50K+ is possible. Fingers crossed

once we have Q2 numbers published the confidence will grow and should be able to guestimate where it would land.

How to disclose past TN denial during AOS

My first TN at Niagara Falls land border back in 2011/2012 was denied couple of times because the application was weak (i.e. missing critical information in the support letter). I was allowed to enter but not on TN status. On third attempt I got approved. I held multiple TN visas after that without denial.

During AOS application, I disclose this as denial of visa or denial of status and do not need the details as I do not remember as it was 14 years ago.

EB2-PERM Original Job Post Question

Hi all! My employer in higher edu plans to apply for EB2-PERM for me. However, they mentioned that the original job post was a link-back rather than on national professional journal. Did anyone experience similar situation in the past? I never realized that higher edu job post must be on a journal in order for you to work for PERM. Is that the case?

i140 filed in May2026 but not received anything yet! Any help appreciated.

I am from India and I am on H1B visa. This is my second H1B.

Has anyone filed i140 recently maybe early this year in base processing. I have been tracking the USCIS processing time and it says, 80% of the cases are resolved within 2.5months. It has already been 2.5 months for my case and I haven't received any RFE, so it should be done by now., right?

I have been using the below links to check status and processing time.

Any leads/support are appreciated.

When to Receive the Receipt Notice ?

Hi I filed my I-140, I-485, I-131 and I-765 on August 14, 2026 (package delivered to USCIS).

  1. When should I receive my receipt notice for each form?

  2. Would the “Delivered“ date above be my receipt date?

  3. What’s the average processing time for each form?

Summary about my case:

- ROW, 75 countries
- F1 to F1 OPT to H1B to PERM EB2
- I have a spouse filing with me.

How accurate is PermUpdate.com’s estimated PERM completion date?

Perm filed in July 2026 and PermUpdate is showing decision date prediction as December 2026 a much earlier estimated completion date than the 14 - 16 month timeline my immigration team mentioned.

For people whose PERM has already been certified:

  • How accurate was PermUpdate’s estimated completion date for you?
  • Does the estimated date keep changing as your case progressed?

Just trying to understand whether the tracker is actually useful for predicting approval or should only be treated as a rough estimate.

March 2015 EB2 (previous EB3) interfiling

I have approved I140 in both EB2 (current employer) and EB3 past. When the time comes if EB3 dates become current for March 2015, I am trying to understand how interfiling works to take advantage of my EB3. What is the trend?

- Is it advised to interfile or not?

- Are there any processing delays associated with it?

- Should I wait for EB2 to be current?

- What are the estimated dates we can see for either queue for Oct 2026?

Thank you!

Edit 1: I didn't mention country. India.

Edit 2: I know not to expect to have the GC before 2030, but would be nice to have EAD/AP.

Question regarding request for evidence

Good morning
I received a request for evidence from USCIS for the I-485 application saying that an incorrect Supplement J was submitted with missing employer and job offer details.

I reviewed it and all of the information was correctly entered onto the form.

What should I do? Do I send the I485 Supplement J form again?

EB2 NIW from Ethiopia-confused?

Hi friends

Just wondering if anyone with approved EB2 NIW from Ethiopia has received interview letters from NVC recently. Here is my case key details:

PD: May 8 2024

DQ date: Oct 2025

I received 3 times 60 days notice from NVC-pretty much the same generic email messages telling me my case is DQed and I should wait to hear back from them in the next 60days.

But still no interview letter despite the IV scheduling tool for Addis Ababa post is showing August 2026. Does it have to do with 75 country pause?

what should I do? Thanks for your support in advance!

EB-2 NIW I-485 APPROVED , Premium Processing, Two RFEs & Interview

EB-2 NIW I-485 APPROVED 🎉 Premium Processing, Two RFEs & Interview

I wanted to share my EB-2 NIW journey because reading other people's experiences helped me a lot throughout this process.

This was a long and difficult journey, especially because I received RFEs at both the I-140 and I-485 stages. Every RFE brought more waiting, more documents, and more uncertainty. There were stressful moments, but in the end, all the preparation and patience were worth it.

My case was based on a proposed endeavor related to tax administration and financial management.

My Timeline
Priority Date: September 9, 2024
I-140 RFE: October 30, 2024
I-140 RFE Response: Nov 04, 2024
I-140 Approved: December 16, 2024
I-485 Filed: January 7, 2026
I-485 RFE: April 24, 2026
I-485 RFE Response: May 7, 2026
I-485 Interview Scheduled: July 8, 2026
I-485 Interview: August 10, 2026
I-485: Approved (Next day) (August 11,2026)

My I-140 was filed with Premium Processing, I received an RFE on October 30, 2024. The RFE challenged (Prong 1 and Prong 3 of the NIW requirements). We prepared a comprehensive response with supporting evidence, and thankfully, USCIS accepted the response and approved my I-140.

Then Came Another RFE, This Time for My I-485

I thought the hardest part was behind me after the I-140 approval, but during my I-485 process, I received another RFE on April 24, 2026.

This RFE focused heavily on my F-1 student history and maintenance of status. USCIS requested extensive documentation regarding my enrollment and attendance, transcripts, tuition payments, class schedules, coursework, physical presence, and other evidence supporting my F-1 history. This was one of the most difficult parts of the journey because we had to collect and organize a large amount of documentation covering several years. We worked quickly and submitted the complete I-485 RFE response on May 7, 2026, only about two weeks after the RFE was issued.

Then, on July 8, 2026, USCIS scheduled me for an I-485 interview.

(The Interview August 10, 2026)

After everything I had been through with the RFEs, I prepared myself for a very difficult interview.

Surprisingly, the actual interview was much more straightforward than I expected.

The officer mainly focused on:
* My F-1 status and immigration history
* My OPT/employment history
* The standard I-485 yes/no questions

The officer was professional and the interview went smoothly.

At the end of the interview, I asked the officer what he thought about my case.

He told me:
“You will get your green card in 2–3 weeks.”

Next day my online case status changed to
CASE APPROVED! 🎉

A Big Thank You
I also want to give special credit to the professional immigration preparer who helped me from the beginning of my case all the way to the end. They helped prepare and organize my paperwork throughout the process, including my original NIW petition, I-140 RFE response, I-485 RFE response, supporting evidence, and adjustment-of-status documentation.

For RFEs take it seriously. Understand exactly what USCIS is questioning, collect relevant evidence, organize your response carefully, respond on time, and know your own case.

My journey was: Premium Processing → I-140 RFE on Prongs 1 & 3 → I-140 Approval → I-485 RFE → RFE Response → Interview Scheduled → I-485 Interview on August 10 → CASE APPROVED.

It wasn't an easy road, but finally: APPROVED!

Good luck to everyone still waiting. Stay patient, stay organized, prepare well, and don't give up just because your case becomes complicated.

EB2 NIW PP TSC Delay of 310 days!

EB-2 NIW — Premium Processing

Priority Date: 09/30/2025

Service Center: TSC

Processing: Premium Processing

Still no decision.

Every time I contact USCIS, I receive the same response: “The case is undergoing additional security checks/review.”

It has been many months since filing, and the 45-business-day Premium Processing timeframe has long passed.

Has anyone else experienced a similar situation with an EB-2 NIW case in PP?

How long did your case remain under additional review/security checks, and what was the final outcome?

Any insight or recent experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
