Hi we just received RFE via email… yet to get a copy of mail .

Our eb2 priority date got current on April 1st .
Ours is May 2014.
But in june bulletin dates retrogress.
If we send RFE evidence before june 2026 ,
What are the chances of getting a green card?

Need advice: EB2 vs EB3 interfile (India, PD May 8 2014) — would you interfile or wait?

Looking for advice from anyone who has been in a similar situation or attorneys/experienced folks here.

My situation:
PD: May 8, 2014 (India)
Originally EB2 approved
Downgraded and filed AOS in EB3 on Oct 30, 2025 because EB3 filing date was current at that time
So my pending I-485 is currently linked to EB3
I also still have an approved EB2 I-140 with same employer

Current status:
EB2 FAD became current for me briefly, but latest bulletin retrogressed
EB3 moved forward by 1 month, but still not current for my PD
I-485 has had multiple soft updates recently (Apr 3, Apr 13, Apr 14, May 16, May 19, May 20)
Principal + derivative both had same-second backend updates together

Emma says:
case is at Phoenix Field Office( local to me)
case complete / no missing docs
no interview scheduled
case is “in process”

Attorney advice:
My lawyer says they do NOT recommend interfiling back and forth because:
USCIS gives no acknowledgment of TUB/interfile
could create delays/confusion
if EB2 retrogresses again and EB3 later moves, it gets messy
their anecdotal experience is USCIS sometimes reviews based on whichever category is current when both I-140s are approved (not sure how true this is)

My concern:
If I send EB3 → EB2 TUB now:
what if EB2 retrogresses further?
if EB3 later overtakes, does this create a mess?
does it affect anything with pending I-485 adjudication timing?

If I do nothing:
USCIS may just wait for EB3 to become current
but I’m worried I may miss a faster EB2 opportunity if officer won’t look at it automatically

Question for the community:
If you were in my shoes, would you:
A. Send EB2 interfile/TUB now
B. Wait 1–2 more visa bulletins and see how EB3 moves
C. Do nothing and trust USCIS to use whichever basis is current
Would especially love to hear from anyone who had dual EB2/EB3 approved I-140s with pending AOS and what USCIS actually did.

EB2 June 2014 approved

I’m from the 2020 EB3 downgrade and 2022 EB2 batch. I got medical RFE on 5/1 from Brooklyn FO which I responded on 5/4. The status changed directly to “New Card Produced” on 5/20. Looks like USCIS is approving cases before the June retrogression. Good luck everyone and have hope

NBC - Louisville - Fort Myers EB2

Hello all.

Just want to get your opinion about my case. EB2.

11/2025 - PERM approved

12/16/ 2025 - USCIS received documents

12/23/2025 - i-140 approved

01/12/2026 - biometrics

02/2026 - current in visa bulletin (Philippines)

It was initially received in NBC and was transferred to Louisville which is non local then last time I asked Emma it was moved to Fort Myers which is close to my city.

Does that mean I will need interview or not necessarily? How close am I to getting approved? I have multiple silent updates already.

Your thoughts are welcome. Thank you.

PERM processing

Hello Redditors, I would like to hear from people who have applied for PERM in 2025 and got approved this year, so that I can have an estimated time based on real case timelines. I do follow permupdate.com, but not sure how accurate it is. Thanks in advance.

Experience traveling on AP - EB2 India

I am also on the same boat as several others here waiting after the 2022 retrogression and having 5 year EAD/AP.

Unfortunately with the June retrogression we still have to wait and i am planning to travel on AP as the Gc may take more than 6 months from now. Wanted to understand how was the experience traveling on AP whoever has done that.

In my case my wife had Notice to appear case in the past and it was dismissed in first hearing. The case was because her i94 got expired but continued on GC EAD/AP. with this history i am contemplating onntravel.

It has been over a month but I haven't received a biometrics appointment notification. I can see that most of the people get biometrics notification within 2-3 weeks so I am wondering if its normal?

There was a silent update after a couple of weeks of RD, but nothing in my account.

Preparing RFE for all three prongs

Hello everyone, I sincerely need your guidance. I am currently preparing an RFE response for my EB2-NIW petition on all three prongs.

I wanted to ask about the length of the personal statement. Chen advised me to provide detailed explanations with their strategy, and the officer also requested a detailed plan and several supporting explanations. Because of this, my personal statement has become around 12 pages excluding references, and about 17 pages including references and one table summarizing previous published research on my PE.

I am a little worried because some people told me that it is too lengthy and that the personal statement should be shorter. However, I honestly do not know how to explain everything properly in fewer pages without missing important details.

Could you please guide me? Is this length really considered too long for an RFE response? I would especially appreciate advice from people who received approval after responding to an RFE. Thank you so much.

After 13+ years — EB-2 India Green Card Finally Approved! (PD Nov 2013)

Emotionally drained after a very long journey, our family's EB-2 India green cards are finally approved! Sharing the timeline in case it helps others still waiting.

Key Timeline:

  • 2012–2013: Started the GC process. Priority Date became November 11, 2013
  • November 2, 2020: Filed I-485 (AOS) + derivatives (Receipt Number: SRC2190xx)
  • January 19, 2022: Biometrics completed
  • August 2022: Case transferred between offices
  • September 29, 2022: Received Medical RFE (I-693). Responded on October 14, 2022
  • July – September 2022: PD was briefly current, but case was not approved before retrogression
  • October 2022: PD retrogressed heavily. Case stuck at National Benefits Center (NBC) with “visa number not available” status for 3.5 years
  • April 2026: PD finally became current again (Final Action Date reached July 15, 2014) <--this is where i became hyper vigilant and pounded Reddit forum obsessively to elicit info on how 485 adjudications are taking place. By now I knew what was lacking in my files and what to expect.
  • Early April 2026: Submitted new medical exam proactively to NBC <--This was a big risk and against 99% of all the Reddit and AI feedback. But I did not want to regret missing the boat once again. I know this was going to be needed so I took chance.
  • March 26, 2026: Submitted Congressional inquiry via Senator office. <-- Received generic response and assurance that case is processing normally).
  • Mid April - Chatted with Live Agent. <-- Got connected quickly. Asked pointed questions and got generic answers.
  • Early May: Date Retrogressed. <-- became rabid with rage, cussed and pulled hair. My chances for approval were hanging by a thread. Most importantly prayed to my deity. I did not even know if my medicals got attached to my file.
  • May 18, 2026: Principal case → New Card Is Being Produced < -- Miracle took place. Most likely due to retrogression and to use up available visa numbers, my file was opened and since it had everything, the approval was fast. Else, I would have an RFE issued and would have missed the opportunity again.
  • May 19, 2026: Official approval notice issued.
  • Next few days: All three cases (me, spouse, and son) showed approved / New Card Is Being Produced

Total wait: ~13 years from PD, 5 years and 6 months from I-485 filing.

Few observations:

  1. Mycaseshub (free version) was helpful for my tracking of close by cases. It provided good information that I could anticipate which case types and centers are getting updates.
  2. The earliest alert was via USCIS email notification. MyCaseshub and trackmyvisanow showed alert with few minutes delay.
  3. Lawfully app was no not super helpful or use in my case. The status update too was delayed.
  4. There is no separate subgroup for Indian in Eb2 nor any good trackers. If you have your case pending then keep reading older posts and monitor new posts. It is frustrating to note ROW EB2s get fast approvals.
  5. Agency is actively processing cases in the remaining few days before rtrogression.
  6. Once I get my GC, I will fade away from Eb2 group. AMA any questions you have and I will give my responses for next couple of days.

Huge thanks to this community for all the information and support over the years. All efforts done by me for my case and information shared with you are not legal advice. Everyone's case is different so apply your own efforts. Good luck to everyone still waiting — your turn will come!

NIW 140 Avg processing times (PP)

I did a rough calculation using the March and Feb data and found the following business-day distribution for Approved/RFE cases. You can add your own priority date to get a rough estimate of where your case might fall percentage-wise.

Explanation:

P10 | 22 Business days , means there are 10% cases approved/rfe in 22 business days starting from your PP date,

P50 | 32 Business days, means there are 50% cases approved/rfe in 32 business days

The data is based on this post https://www.reddit.com/r/EB2_NIW/comments/1smd3mn/pp_feb_march_april_filers/

the remaining timeline we should expect on April

| Percentile | Business days

| P10 | 22 Business days
| P25 | 26 Business days
| P50 | 32 Business days
| P75 | 38 Business days
| P90 | 43 Business days

More data on March and Feb:

Approval vs RFE Timing Breakdown

Approval
| Percentile | Feb (n=40) | Mar (n=32) | Diff |
|-----------|-----------|-----------|------|
| P10 | 25d | 21d | -4d |
| P25 | 30d | 25d | -5d |
| P50 | 38d | 30d | -8d |
| P75 | 41d | 37d | -4d |
| P90 | 44d | 41d | -3d |
| Mean | 35d | 30d | -4d |

EB2 India - Approved

I have been with the same employer throughout my green card process.

The process began when my employer filed a PERM on August 7, 2013, which was subsequently approved. Following this, my I-140 petition was approved on April 22, 2015.

I filed my I-485 (Adjustment of Status) with my company attorney on September 22, 2022, at the National Benefits Centre. Around this time, the visa bulletin dates retrogressed, delaying further progress.

Key milestones after filing I-485:

  • October 27, 2022: Received biometrics (fingerprint) appointment notice
  • January 2023: Employment Authorization Document (EAD) and Advance Parole (AP) were approved for both primary applicant and dependent
  • February 2023: Case transferred to the non-local Field Office and received an RFE requesting a medical examination
  • April 11, 2023: Submitted medical examination response to RFE
  • April 20, 2023: I-485J (Supplement J) was approved
  • June 9, 2023: The case was placed on temporary hold due to the unavailability of the visa number

In March 2026, the Final Action Dates became current. I made multiple inquiries through Emma and was informed that the case was within normal processing time. My attorney also contacted USCIS, after which an internal service request was raised. The case was later transferred to a different field office.

Subsequent updates:

  • April 8, 2026: USCIS issued a Request for Initial Evidence (RFE) for updated medicals
  • May 8, 2026: Medicals were submitted via FedEx
  • May 11, 2026: Medical packet was received by the USCIS mail room
  • Between May 11 and May 17, 2026, case status remained unchanged as “RFE sent” with no acknowledgement update
  • May 18, 2026 (8:15 AM): Case status changed to “New Card Is Being Produced”
  • May 19, 2026: Case was approved

I have not yet received the physical Green Card.

EB-2 India | Feb 2026 Filer | Primary approved, Derivative pending (Decoupled queue).

We filed I-485 + I-765 + I-131 concurrently on Feb 20, 2026 (Primary + Spouse). IOE09357 block, NBC, Lockbox. Biometrics completed on Mar 17.

It looks like our cases decoupled at the very last minute right before the primary approval, and here is the backend data timeline:

  • 3/17: Biometrics cleared (FTA0) for both
  • March & April: 4x silent updates for both (cohort batching / officer touches)
  • 5/11: 3rd FTA0 update for both primary and derivative across all cases simultaneously
  • 5/12: Background checks fully cleared for Derivative (FTA1)
  • 5/13: Primary APPROVED (83 days from filing) ✅
  • 5/15: Primary Card Produced (LDA / closed:true)
  • 5/15–5/19: 18+ internal backend touches (H008) on Primary (USPS tracking pings)
  • 5/19: Derivative still pending — Day 6 post-primary approval

We checked with USCIS agent on 5/16 & confirmed that there are no holds, no flags, welll within projected timeframe. Based on ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini reading the JSON files - they think it is totally clean file — no RFEs, no interview, no transfer. We think that derivative 485 just missed the concurrent batch window and was pushed to a secondary queue.

  • Has anyone else seen this specific derivative lag post-primary approval at NBC? 🤔
  • How long did it take for the adjudicator to pull up your derivative file from the queue? We are trying to gauge if we are looking at a few days or a few weeks of waiting. Thank you! 🙏
