How much is the SNL brand worth?

Sounds like Netflix would love to have SNL in their stable with all the NBCU news -- but they don't want to own the whole sprawling company.

It made me wonder: how much could SNL sell for on its own?

Remember we're not just talking about new and old episodes, but the entire IP - they own characters (merch!), catchphrases (merch!) and songs (uh, songs!)

I'm thinking around $500 mil.

We never talk about how this is the same stage

As Colbert's show ends tomorrow, it's the end of an era. The show was filmed at the Ed Sullivan Theater, where the Beatles played in 64 and then Letterman took it over in the 90s.
