I saw the postman come in and didnt see the parcel when he was speaking to us as he we know him, it would have been a large box. I assumed it would be delivered later at my work office but I then got a notification saying it was delivered and there was a picture of just envelopes and no parcels.

I loved the original colours of the first Fold prototypes. Customising the hinge colour was also really cool and unique. Today we have very minimalist and mostly boring and uninteresting colours and finishes.

I was surprised to get this today, I thought it was coming out on August 7th 🤔😂.

Anyway, I'm a die hard fold style fan. I've had the Fold 1,2,3,4,5 and then I went to the Honour Magic V3 but now we land here with the Fold 8. I went for this version as I don't watch TV at all, I watch everything on my phone.

Upon first impressions, the phone is extremely light, a massive difference over my Honour Magic V3 and that's quite a light foldable already. Folding and unfolding the phone is nice. Very light open and then the hinge takes charge towards the end and snaps it into place. When you fold it back you get an extremely satisfying clasp when the two ends meet. Masterful clasp I will say.

The front screen is weird, let's not get around it. I haven't used a front screen this weird since the first Fold. But this one is obviously much nicer than that, it's very wide and has decent size. It's more about getting used to the aspect ratio. I think it'll be fine after a few days.

The big star of the show is obviously the big screen. It feels much more compact compared to the bigger folds when holding it in even though the screen difference isn't very much. Again it's just a matter of getting used to the aspect ratio if you are coming from the bigger folds. The portrait mode is a better experience on the bigger folds but the landscape experience is nicer on this wide version, as expected 🥸. Videos are really great on this and I'm quite happy already since I only watch stuff on my phone. The screen quality is incredible, a big upgrade over my Magic V3.

There's also a bit of a learning curve for me using the keyboard due to the shift in aspect ratio but again it's just a settling in period.
