Okay, after several weeks of adult obligations, we finally get some alone time. Our first 50 mile day!

High school shop class was the last time I worked with wood until this little box and some garden boxes I built last year. I needed some outdoor storage to hide pool stuff, it has its own…. Personality, but overall I am happy with it. Looking forward to the next one and making it a little truer and playing around with finishes. The hinges were a bitch, any tips on hinges, I am all ears.

Finally the agony is over… or is it. 20 minutes after picking it up we packed up the family and left for a weekend getaway. First ride will be a work commute Monday morning.

I ordered my first brand new grown up bike 3 days ago, I am a veteran so I took advantage of the amazing discount offered by Specialized through their website. There was the exact bike I wanted in stock a couple hours away when I checked at my local store, but since I ordered through the official site it shipped from Ohio… the anticipation of not checking my tracking information every hour is agonizing. Coming from OH and I am in Northern California it is a full 7-8 day wait, then assembly. I feel like a crack head who needs a fix!
