For my Dad.
In my 20s I found out that British citizenship by descent was a thing (Dad was born in Scotland), and I always talked about getting my passport but pushed it off. My Dad passed away unexpectedly in March, two days later I went to get my photos taken (had to renew my US one anyways), filled out my application, sent the documents over and finally received my UK passport.
I'm sad it took my Dad's passing to get it, and wish he could see it. After decades of being a GC holder in the US he was finally applying for citizenship, my Aunt said it inspired her to apply for her US citizenship as well and she should be getting it soon. Thanks Dad, I miss you.
