Hello!
I'm very much a fs fan and not a skater myself–I feel like I've had conflicting answers to the question of whether a Flip is "supposed" to have a flat or inside edge.
According to this thread, many of the skaters noted as having good triple flips have a very obvious inside edge, but someone like Yuna Kim (who is noted for her great technique) as more of a slight inside-bordering-on-flat edge. I think both are great and make for satisfying flip jumps–it's not a question as to what is the "correct" technique, rather what is the expected technique.
The Lutz and Flip are somewhat opposites; so if a Lutz is expected to have a deep outside edge, what is the expected edge for a Flip?
Hello! I've had JBL TUNE660NC headphones for a while. Literally just a few moments ago I was listening to audio on my laptop (via bluetooth) when my headphones sounded like they got "stuck" on the audio and started glitching with a humming noise. I turned them off and back on again, but now the NC button makes a different sound?? Before when I turned it off/on it would sound like a little beep, but now it sounds like two guitar notes being played (the NC won't turn off or on, but the guitar noise plays like it is, if that makes sense.)
I've had these headphones for YEARS and have never had this issue or had the beep sound it makes when you turn the NC on/off change before. Anyone know what's happening?
What programs (short, free, or gala) do you want to see another skater perform?
What are niche/lesser used/specific elements that you'd like to see more of in programs?
Can include:
• costume details/elements
• choreographic elements
• spin positions
• jump passes/layouts/
• music pieces
• etc.
Not looking for anything like: "less [insert warhorse music] here" or "less edea pianos," just curious about things that deserve more of a spotlight!
For me:
• Longer holds on elements (for example, yuzuru's bracket (?) where he holds the second position for a decently long amount of time here (0:43, chopin SP from 2018). simple but gorgeous and elegant!!
• Similarily, more breaks in the choreography to emphasize certain beats of the song
• Holding an arabesque or other position before leaving a spin (for ex., the way Katelyn Osmund holds her arabesque after the biellman variation)
• more pants/jumpsuits for the ladies
• As much as I love a firey, boots-the-house down ID routine to pop or musical theatre, I would love to see more straight up classical a la V/M 2010 Mahler FD (and I do not like Mahler so that's saying a lot!)
• more split jumps/calypsos/firebirds; jumps that aren't traditional figure skating jumps!
• unconventional movie soundtrack picks and theming (Everhardt Poor Things, Gutmann Jaws)
EDIT:
Can be for competition or gala programs
