New job is an 11 hour shift and I can not do it!!!!

I want to cry. I am struggling so much right now. I am having a hard time keeping a job due to mental health issues(I am too depressed to get out of bed some days, literally catatonic, non moving, non speaking, just completely checked out). I have been working a series of part time jobs for the last 5 years just to pay the bills because I have to keep a roof over myself and my sons head as well as clothe and feed us despite the mental health issues. I am the only parent and the only income. Just got a full time job and found out today on my first day that the shifts are 11 hours. 7am to 6pm. 4 days a week. Plus my 30 min bike ride there and 30 min bike ride back. So from 630am to 630pm.

I am too old for this!!!!!! I am going to do my best and last as long as I can so I can get caught up on bills but why in the world would you make shifts be 11 hours long what is the reason for this it is unsustainable and probably why they have a high turnover rate like how do they not see and understand that???? Also we finished all work at 330 today and then they said we just hang out until 6???????????? Like???????? Why would I just hang out for several hours????? I am tired!!!! I have a family!!!! I want to be at home not here!!!!!

Also yes I am on meds for the mental health stuff. I am in therapy. I am still struggling anyway. Just so tired of getting one step ahead and getting kicked in the teeth four steps back.

Need help figuring out how to work my new ebike

Recently bought a used ebike. It is a retrospec Beaumont. Can’t seem to find anything online that tells me what the different mode settings do!

Never ridden a bike, should I not start on an e-bike?

Hello all!! I am attempting to go carless. Have been walking to work(only 1/4 mile) but wanting to get a bike to be able to go more places. However I have never ridden a bike. I’m 32. Am I gunna wreck and break a bone if I skip learning to ride an analog bike and jump straight to an ebike?

I’m looking at getting a used retrospec Beaumont.

Also - I have a giant dog! It would be cool to be able to bring him on rides with me using a bike trailer. Anybody use a trailer with an ebike?

Transitioning kids to off grid life!

Hello wonderful peoples!!! Talk to me about your experience moving kids off the grid. I grew up outside, farming, climbing trees, being in the creek. Outhouse, outdoor shower, no tv, no internet. I am very comfortable being off grid and prefer it, so we are moving to an off grid community! I have a 10 year old son who homeschools and spends a lot of his time on screens. We have visited the community for a few days and even a week long visit so he knows where we are going and what to expect already. I know there will be an adjustment period where he hates everything and everyone and that we will get through it eventually and be better for it. Just wanting to hear from those that are on the other side already!

Children adjusting to intentional community?

Would love to hear any real life experience with children moving from nuclear family life to living in an intentional community! Have been visiting some communities and am interested in spending a season or longer in one but have a 10 year old who is not sold on the idea.

At the end of the day I am the parent and it is my responsibility to make sure he lives a happy healthy and safe life even if he feels I’m ruining his life but I’m still worried about what the adjustment would look like!
