I feel like I messed some things up so feedback would be appreciated.
Didnt finish rendering it but still thought I would share :/
Character is May from Guilty Gear
I was in a rush so it might be a little bit messy
I'm having a hard time finding the correct colors to pick and I feel like my portraits always end up looking boring and lifeless
This is my first portrait drawing in color and I'm still really new to coloring in general. Some of the areas look really muddy (especially the ear and the area below the lip) and I'm not really sure how It can fix it. The cheek area also looks really flat even after adding highlights.
My goal is to draw in a more realistic style
Anything I should work on for next time? Every drawing I've done before has been in greyscale/black and white
Also properly drew the hands on a figure for the first time instead of using mitten hands.
Anything I should work on?
Do these look stiff? If so, what should I work on?
My first portrait drawing vs my most recent drawings.
The first drawing was done on May 5th
I've been learning how to draw for the 1-2 months and I've spent all of that time drawing the head and learning about values. I want to have atleast a basic understanding of how to draw somewhat accurate facial proportions before moving onto the rest of the body.
Should I keep practicing drawing the head or should I start learning how to draw the rest of the body? My goal is to draw stylized art.
I've been drawing for around a month and a half and I've only been practicing anatomy for the face/head and maybe a portion of the upper torso.
Should I start learning how to draw the rest of the body?
Do the edges look okay?
What can I improve here? Is there enough contrast? Does the anatomy look alright?
Right now I'm trying to improve my portrait drawing / shading skills before moving onto learning how to draw the rest of the body
Any feedback helps
