I had been thinking of buying a dragonfly for over a year and I love waxed canvas bags, so when the latest bespoke series was released with waxed canvas, I had to jump at getting it.

I was a little worried that the waxed canvas would make it feel too heavy as the regular dragonfly is known for being extremely lightweight. I also have a ULA Cicada that I use often, so I have a bit of a baseline of how light there bags can be. I’m relieved that it is still a very lightweight bag.

The zippers are buttery smooth, very glad they aren’t aqua guard zippers. The harness feels very comfortable, I chose the S straps and the fidlock sternum strap. The laptop compartment is massive but I don’t think it’s super padded, so will have to be careful with the bag when my laptop is in it. The water bottle pockets are shorter than typical, the material is less stretchy (I think). They still fit larger water bottles but not as securely, just something I’ll have to be more careful with. If I turn the bag upside down, my medium sized bottle will fall out.

The front pocket has pleats to give it heaps of volume, I could easily put a couple CAP1s in there. The top quick access is also generous, way bigger than most dump pockets.

My use case is international work trips and I think it will be fantastic. Looking forward to using it!

ULA just released a beautiful Dragonfly made from waxed canvas. I’ve been looking at buying a dragonfly for travel for about a year but this one looks beautiful.

This bag looks amazing but I’d really like a review before I buy it. The photos and description just doesn’t give me enough detail to know if there are things that would really disappoint me. Any thoughts?
