I got my first compliment from a stranger today ❤️

I've been actually having the worst week, but forced myself to go out and do some small errands after my shower.

I stopped by my bank and when I was about to leave, the teller told me how great I smelled. I usually only get compliments from people I know, even at my doctor's office with the staff, so this was a really nice surprise and it really lifted my mood ☺️

I'm not normally a huge fan of Kayali or Josie Maran, so it's kind of ironic lol, but I bought some stuff recently for the first time in months and I'm glad I did as they smell really amazing and it's been helping me feel like myself a little more again.

I only just found out about barefoot shoes two weeks ago, and impulsively managed to snag these!

I fear I’ve been converted for life.

I’ve been lurking a lot and saw a lot raving about the comfort, especially with this brand in particular, and I can’t believe how spot on everyone was. It’s such a bizarre feeling! Very much like a ballerina ninja in these, lol.

I’m trying to restrict myself now from buying more recommendations but I’ll be on the look regardless 😅🤍 I was pretty nervous to try something different, but I’m super happy I did.

Dad recently passed, and it’s motivated me to finally play & finish RE7 because real life is way scarier.

Seriously the most bizarre thing ever.

Some background - I’m such a massive fan of horror, but I’ve always struggled with horror games for some reason?

My dad actually bought me a PS2 when I was younger for Christmas in the early 2000s, and the only game he had gotten alongside with it was Code Veronica (and I remember it had a demo with Devil May Cry).

No idea why he thought this was fitting for a 6 year old lmao (but he’s also the reason I later got into horror movies) and I remember being secretly upset because I was too afraid to play it.

I ended up buying Requiem back in February because I really didn’t want to miss out on a great experience due to stupid fear, and I managed to finish it in a weekend.

After that, I bought the entire series on sale and I’ve been making my way through them since: Zero, REmake, the modern remakes, Code Veronica, 5-8 and Revelations. REmake was honestly the hardest for me to get through and gave me the most uncomfortable type of fear, but it was so amazing.

CV was the most frustrating 🫠 but I was super proud that I was able to redeem myself and finish it, lmao, and I mentioned this to my dad before he passed.

I did skip 5 & 6, which I’ll absolutely go back to but I was definitely feeling major anxiety starting 7.

With everything going on recently, I’ve leaned back into gaming as a comfort and it was actually a really great distraction in a weird, fun way. It forced me not to take it so seriously and I’m crazy happy that I was able to finally play.

I also finished Village yesterday! And I have to jump into Shadows of Rose soon, but I never would’ve expected these games to bring some sort of weird comfort.

I’m also hoping that by becoming more desensitized through this series, I’ll get more comfortable enough to try tons of other horror games I’ve been wanting to play.

Anyways, I just wanted to share my wins with the community, and I’m really happy I’ve fallen in love with RE as a whole. Really excited to see where this goes! 🙂♥️
