Last year I did 5,200 miles in 3 weeks (Route 66) and next week I will have completed 4k miles in about 3 weeks (Indianapolis to Key West and back via state roads). All this on my ‘05 Deuce. I have never considered myself a bagger person but am considering something a little more distance friendly but still handles like the Deuce. What are the collective thoughts?
Truck (GEN 2) was in it parking spot and all of a sudden the alarm goes off and the app says inclination detected. Go to check it out and the truck looks sad. Apparently the right front spring wanted to work remotely.
The bike (05 Deuce) started out with black sweeper style exhaust (1st pic) and after a few unwelcoming leg burns and uncomfortable heat it had to go. Purchased a set of Cobra Speedster Longs (2nd pic)and while they looked great the sound wasn’t quite right. After putting it off for a year I had (last week) bought a set of Vance & Hines Big Shot Staggered (3rd pic)and holy cow, I wish I went this route first. Just sharing my recent experiences
What’s the trick? I replace the bunk carpet 2 seasons ago and it already looks like garbage and is shredded. Are there different grades of carpet? I was considering going to the plastic bunks but cannot workout a positive cost/ benefit assessment.
I like the idea of living aboard, especially before I get to old to do so. What length boats should I be looking at? Ideally I would cruise from Lake Michigan down the coast to Florida. Thank you for your input.
Last year I rode this from Indianapolis to Chicago and did Route 66 and back. This year I’m taking the same bike from Indy to Key West.
