A Roundhouse Boxcar Diesel I saved from scrap.

My local hobby store had gotten in a box of HO rolling stock with most of it in bits, normally broken models go into their general scrap bin but this lot had yet to be processed, I had a look and was able to complete various wagons to bulk my collection but I also saw a loose drive motor and shortly after the body shell. I then went through the lot with a fine tooth comb and was able to find every missing piece of it and ended up with it for £10.

I've tested it and even after cleaning the wheels it's not healthy but the lights are working and one of the wheel sets has returned to life so it'll need some tlc. But glad I saved something that might otherwise have been broken up.

I made a punishment bedroom after failing to get two para's to hook up.

The para in question didn't vibe with the fellow so I made a punishment room where they are forced to watch their ex sleeping with another woman,To enter she passes through a door that does the clown honk at her and at all times there is clock reminding them of the time I wasted trying to get them to hook up, there's a half wall so others can sit and watch her sitting there like a lemon as the mirror in front forces her to stare at herself and reflect.

However to prevent hanky panky I made the bed awkwardly wider and force them to only take naps making this whole scenario have an extra layer of surreal weirdness.

My slightly battered copy of "Old Greek Stories Simply Told" by Charles Henry Hanson

Here's what's currently the oldest book in my collection: Old Greek Stories Simply Told from 1884. I paid basically nothing for it a very long time ago and I had the feeling if I didn't get it it was probably going to wind up in the bin.

By all accounts it's in terrible condition and not only is it falling apart but some of the pages are loose/missing though this lets you see how it was put together with the interior binding visible. I also really like the intricate design on the cover along with the gold detailing. To keep it from deteriorating further/falling apart I just have it in a resealable plastic pouch tucked away in storage instead of keeping it on a bookshelf.

Restoring a 19th Century Station Building - Nene Valley Railway, UK

A video showing off the 19th century station at Wansford on The Nene Valley Railway which is in need of funds in order to save it, while the railway was saved for heritage use the original building wasn't owned by them and lay decaying for many years.

The railway has seen a lot of film activity over the years including "Buster" starring Phil Collins, Octopussy and Goldeneye from the James Bond Franchise, Hercule Poirot's Murder On The Orient Express and even a music video by rock band Queen.

What's a stupid or weird update you'd add to the game?

The examples shown in the pictures are from "If Team Fortress 2 Was Updated by a Bot" by Dr Oscid but as silly as these are I would be curious to at least see how a game would run with these in action. So I figured I'd ask what changes folks would make that don't make much sense or would just be broken, either for petty revenge against a class or because you think it'd be cool.

My pick is that I would make it so that Pyro can air blast a heavy's sandvich out of his hand.

I left a tape unattended while grabbing some water, this Is what I came back to..

I was digitising a tape and an elderly splice I was unaware of failed and the tape wrapped itself right around the mechanism till it got jammed. I ended up pulling all the tape off and hand winding the mess back onto the reel. I'll splice the bisected tape back together at some point but I banished it to the cupboard of shame for now.

Some unloved coaches at the Nene Valley Railway, UK

A set of sorry looking coaches laid up in sidings just visible from a public walkway, No idea what's planned with these but it's interesting to see what time has done to them.

Characters who suffer horrific deaths / injuries but it's alright as there's no blood.

This trope is largely but not exclusively with nonhuman characters where they take an absolute hammering or die horrible deaths but due to the nature of the story / what the character is it's not technically gory as there is no blood but perhaps to them it might be considered so. here are three examples from the 1930's:

The Clock Store (1931) - At the end a mischievous wall clock tricks two alarm clock into having a fight to the death knocking each other to bits, with the technical winner being held aloft with his body dangling below.

The China Shop (1934) - A china figure devil gets jealous of a couple of lovers and the resulting fight devastates the entire shop, given that each plate, jug and vase is shown to be sentient many of the residents of the shop wind up heavily wounded or dead by the end of the short.

The Pincushion Man / Balloon land (1935) - A young boy pays no heed to the warning not to go into the forest and ends up leading the Pincushion man into the town full of balloon residents where he goes on a mass killing spree, one particularly gruesome death was a caterpillar who gets popped bit by bit as he screams in pain.

An N Gauge Victim of the heatwave. ☀️

This Coach was left out on a table outside a model railway shop while the owner was sorting through items, the sun didn't take long sadly leaving it in the condition seen here.

I enjoy having orchestra music playing on my machine but I have a particular soft spot for Mantovani and his cascading string orchestra sound. I'm slowly collecting his works on reel to reel and this is my latest addition.
