I put this together this weekend. I have always seen the 2x6 across the bed build, but the 8 inches of clearance for storage didn’t work for me cause I need a fridge down there.

I got two bins that go all the way back I can slide out that I was able to fit all my cooking and camp stuff in. I got a drawer fridge that works perfect.

I used sideways 2x4s for each 2x6 slot as a booster, which was pretty much the only difference than the other builds I’ve seen like this.

It does sacrifice ceiling space , but I’m only sleeping up there. Way worth it to me.
