Kon Karapanagiotidis says he feels ashamed to be Greek after Greeks booed the Welcome to Country

Kon Karapanagiotidis on Instagram and BlueSky:

I feel so ashamed as a proud Greek Australian to see Greeks booing a Welcome To Country last night. Shame on us. The First Nations community of Melbourne deserves a formal apology for the behaviour of Greek Australians last night. The Greek Australian community should formally apologise as should @southmelbournefc and @footballaus. This is not who we are as Greeks.

‘Addicted to drops’: Insiders spill on why Australian media is silent on One Nation’s press ban

"But whereas the US has seen solidarity between outlets in response to Trump's ban, with competing television networks refusing to fill the vacated positions, Australia hasn't seen much pushback from other outlets.
The reason? An overreliance on access."

Hanson's plan will thwart Australia's potential

"THE MIGRATION DEBATE initiated by One Nation's Pauline Hanson to reduce immigration to essentially European migrants - and even fewer of them - belongs philosophically to the 1950s.

What is of great concern, no doubt, is that it seems, initially at least, a significant minority of voters support such ideas.

Australia's credibility and growing acceptance in Asian and Pacific countries, which has certainly been PM Anthony Albanese's strongest contribution, would be damaged by a One Nation Government."

Please sign this petition against Meta monetising hate particularly One Nation's hate

Get Up :

We're 1,000 signatures short of our next target and we need to get there in the next 48 hours.

Meta is counting on Australians shrugging and scrolling on. Every name on this petition raises the price of doing nothing.

Sign the petition now: https://act.getup.org.au/act/meta-platform-accountability-troll-farm/sign-the-petition <<

TELL META: STOP PAYING FOR HATE

Meta is paying overseas content farms and a Melbourne man with neo-Nazi links to flood Australian feeds with AI-generated Pauline Hanson propaganda and racist rage bait.

Meta admits hundreds of millions of accounts on its platforms are fake, yet that number never shrinks – because outrage is the product, and the angrier our feeds get, the more Meta profits. In GetUp's own focus groups, people are now repeating pro-Hanson talking points word for word, with no idea those talking points have been manufactured and paid for.

Meta is under more regulatory pressure worldwide than ever, they've just lost a major court case in the US, and there's a live push here for a parliamentary inquiry into foreign-run political pages. When the Guardian put its findings to Meta, seven of fourteen Hanson-linked groups were suspended within days.Imagine what tens of thousands of signatures can do.

We're demanding Meta:

  • Cut the money – stop paying accounts pumping out AI-generated political content and racist rage bait targeting Australians.
  • Open the books – publish who it pays, how much, and from where.
  • Enforce its own rules – Meta already bans coordinated fake accounts. It needs to actually act on that, even when it costs profit.

Tasmanian psephologist gets in on the Lee Hanson incident

“Even more woke wussy whinging from the One Nation political party, getting upset (and their supporters now review-bombing) after a cafe says that every time One Nation shops there they'll donate the takings to the Greens!”.

‘Pretty sad place’: Lee Hanson accuses Richmond cafe of political discrimination

One Nation’s state president, Lee Hanson, has accused a Tasmanian coffee shop of political discrimination after it publicly targeted her party online.

One Nation’s state president, Lee Hanson, has accused a regional Tasmanian coffee shop of political discrimination after it publicly targeted her party in an online post which pledged to donate supporters’ spending directly to the Greens.

Following a Richmond Reading Room Instagram post expressing “disgust” at regularly seeing One Nation’s orange ute parked outside its Bridge St address, Ms Hanson claimed that a business she had supported since its opening had effectively excluded her from its premises.

“I have always been greeted warmly, enjoyed stopping in, and deliberately chosen to spend my money there because I believe strongly in supporting local Tasmanian small businesses,” Ms Hanson wrote on Facebook.

“So to see this post today came as a complete shock.
“Apparently, while I was being welcomed through the door and buying my coffee, I was privately regarded with such contempt that the business has now made this public announcement.

“You do not have to agree with my politics. I would never expect you to.

“But surely we have reached a pretty sad place when someone’s political beliefs determine whether their presence or their custom is considered acceptable.”

One Nation AI-generated video sparks cafe owner row with Lee Hanson

Richmond Reading Room, a cafe business north of Hobart, posted to its social media pages expressing offence at the video, and making an unnamed reference to regular cafe-goer, One Nation candidate and Pauline Hanson's daughter, Lee Hanson.

"Seen the latest One Nation ad and felt absolutely disgusted like I do? Then you'll likely feel the same way when you see the orange ute outside our coffee shop," the post said.

"Unfortunately, our coffee is so good that even One Nation members spend their money here — owned and run by a gay, indigenous-descended, trans-inclusive, pro-multicultural, anti-flag, pro-choice, anti-generative AI, Greens voter.

"Any money spent by a member of one nation will be donated directly to Tasmanian Greens."

Reminder: One Nation Senator’ Malcolm Roberts’ post on ‘undisclosed’ vaccine ingredients an ill-conceived formula

From 2022:-

WHAT WAS CLAIMED:
COVID-19 vaccine ingredients are not disclosed.

AAP FACTCHECK VERDICT:

False. Vaccine ingredients are listed on the Therapeutic Goods Administration website and elsewhere. By law, manufacturers must publish these ingredients.

Meanwhile, measles and other viruses, some officially eradicated, are making a comeback.

So One Nation would rather claim Gina Rinehart is profiting off its own members with commercial rent than admit she’s buying influence over the party? Given Pauline’s backflip on gas reservation, siding with Gina over ordinary Australians, I don't think anyone is buying that excuse.

The Eatock family: proud Aboriginal communists

The Eatocks were a family of Aboriginal communists who fought for Aboriginal and working-class rights. At the head of the family was Lucy Eatock, who, attracted to radical working-class politics during the great strikes of the 1890s, became an activist against conscription in World War I and subsequently a communist matriarch who led her large family in the fight against evictions and the 1930s depression-era austerity imposed on the working class in Sydney.

Oskar Martin - young Indigenous candidate in the Victorian Election 2026 for the Victorian Socialists

Victorian Socialists candidate Oskar Martin (@blaktrot on Instagram) is campaigning for the seat of Williamstown, saying he wants to challenge Labor's long-standing hold on the electorate and push for policies that put working-class communities first.

The young Indigenous candidate is campaigning against proposed Al data centres in Melbourne's western suburbs, including the $1.5 billion Green Square project and the broader expansion of CDC data centres.

Housing is also a key focus of Martin's campaign, with the candidate calling for more public housing and opposing plans to demolish the Williamstown towers at Floyd Lodge and Nelson Heights.

He is also advocating for greater public investment in essential services, including public transport, childcare and education.

Martin said he wants to see greater representation of young and Indigenous people in parliament, drawing inspiration from previous generations of Indigenous activists including Gary Foley and Ray Peckham.
