I had a look at about a dozen Facebook community noticeboards, and Facebook groups for locals in regional Victoria.

They all had some sort of issue with solar farms, wind farms.

Those panels and turbines generate an enormous amout of money for farmers. It's their land to do with what they wish.

Yet noisy idiots take it on themselves to tell others what they can't do with their own land - And are also too stupid to see it's just fear mongering paid for by the coal, oil and gas industry to silence their competition.

So next time you see some clown talking about how turbines or panels are destroying the country, ask them how much they were paid to regurgitate that bullshit, or if they do it for free.

Not trying to be a bitch, but the guy is worth ~$10 million (apparently).

Can he not look like he just woke up from sleeping on a park bench? I mean for fucks sake I'm not worth $10 million and I can afford decent sunscreen and moisturiser and lip balm.

Is it to make him look like an average aussie bloke or something? I don't get what he's trying to achieve.

Croydon and the surrounding area has a bit of a reputation for having a white nationalist/neo-nazi presence.

I've heard many people tell me that NSN members live in the area, meetup, and train.

And this is not new, this article from 2005 alleges some of the organisers of the Cronulla riot lived in the area, and it further goes through a brief history of the areas association with these politics back to the 1990s and even '80s. Which would make it intergenerational and a community.

Is it then entirely a coincidence that One Nation has picked Croydon for this event? Is one of these people involved with One Nation and arranged this, or is One Nation aware of them and trying to make connections? Whatever the case I suspect on the night you would see NSN/other white nationalist org members rubbing shoulders with the broader Hanson-curious crowd frustrated by living conditions + bombard by rightwing media, and trying to recruit them.

Unfortunately the eastern suburbs is a dead zone as far as progressive/leftwing politics go, there is little presence or capacity to organise something beyond a few people from out of the area coming to just "yell at racist dogs" as Tom Tanuki describes it on the night.

Other than the absolutely fantastic take - I love listening to Russell Crowes voice.
