Head Clashes should not be a card

The rule currently is if there is a head clash the defender is given a card. It's one of the dumbest rules in Rugby Union at the moment. I was watching a game on tv recently where the ball carrier basically led with his head and head butted the defender. TMO gets involved and would you know it, the defender is sent to the bin.

In the NRL a head clash is ruled as accidental as the idea that someone is purposely trying to get concussed by head butting someone is ludicrous. In Union though stupidity reins and now ANY head contact no matter how stupid results in 10 in the bin. Whacking someone in the head would also hurt so I can't imagine any player is trying to do it.

Maybe that's a good tactic, get the ball and run up to the oppositions best player and head butt him. Bam, he's in the bin.

Wallabies Rugby Footage

One thing I have discovered is how little rugby footage there is available to fans.

I was wanting to rewatch the game between South Africa and Australia at Brisbane in 2015 where Aussie wins in the last minute by going for the try. Was an excellent come back win.

Its not available on Stan or any platform I could find. Couldn't even find it on youtube. When I searched for it on YouTube looking up Wallabies vs South Africa half of the video's were of the All Blacks.

I couldn't understand why there is such a shortage of clips and highlights available online for Australia.
Does some company own these rights and won't release them or is Rugby Australia just shit at marketing their product. I know the rights have changed to Stan in the last few years but you would think there would clips of these classic test matches available somewhere.

Does anyone know where you can view these?

Thanks

Is South Africa that far ahead..

Look I get it, I am a biased kiwi but I'm not sure why South Africa are such heavy favourites for the first test. Their team is aging and were not impressive against Argentina at all.

I know they are hard to beat at home but for some reason I am really confident with the All Blacks. I like what Dave Rennie has done with this team and the new players coming in mixing with experienced players.

I think if we can keep all our players on the park and not have any in the bin we win. We are consistently down to 14 players in test matches and we can't afford to be against South Africa at home. I think tactically if we get a warning on our try line that the next penalty is a bin its almost worth letting them get the try and resetting.

Half of their team is over the age of 32 and the average age is 31 meanwhile the average age for the All Blacks is 26.

If we do lose, it won't be by much.

Tactic of slowing the game down

So having watching the Northern Hemisphere teams and South Africa play there seems to be a clear tactic of slowing the game down to give their forwards more time. They are slow for lineouts, scrums and players are regularly going down pretending to be injured. Its a blight on the game and teams should be penalised for it - a free kick would be adequate.

I was watching a Currie cup match and one of the teams was so slow anytime there was a stoppage for the lineouts etc and the ref kept telling them to hurry up and warning them but there was no consequence for it. The game was unwatchable.

Watching the NPC its a fast paced game and a real spectacle and then you watch the garbage overseas and its as enjoyable as visiting the mother in-law.

Do the All Blacks need to adopt to this game style for the world cup or do we just ignore it?

Officiating is ruining rugby

I know that it's easy to blame the referee but its honestly getting worse and I now prefer NRL and League as a spectacle purely due to the rules and refereeing.

In the Stormers - All Blacks game the referee was putrid. Yes the AB's infringed a lot but the cards were an absolute joke. It felt at times he was looking for infringements. Imagine if we had two players sent to the bin at the same time in the world cup final or semi final.

I've always felt that yellow and red cards should not be given to players if its accidental. In the NRL an accidental head clash is an accident. There is no malice so its just play on. In rugby however I have seen a ball carrier lead with their head, hit the defenders head and its the defender who gets binned.

You can hip drop someone in Union and its play on but graze someone on the head and its a card.

I'm all for penalising and dishing out cards for blatant high tackles which have malice or are reckless but some of these officials go to the cards way too quickly.

Usage Charges

So my subscription turned over and I got the $20 of usage credits etc. Within a couple of days I received an email to say it has been used up. I checked and I used the agent once for less than a dollar.

I contacted support who referred me to my account usage and I checked it out and apparently I used most of it on storage. It doesn't say what the storage charges relates to or which website. Its so incredibly vague.

The annoying thing its happened a few days after I renewed and I have no idea why.

Has anyone else had this issue?

What is with the constant box kicks in Rugby

I've noticed in Rugby halfbacks seem to do box kicks around 50% of the time. Its nauseating and incredibly frustrating to watch when a lot of the time it gains zero territory and just goes straight up in the air. Half the time it puts the team under immense pressure when you are kicking from your own half.

I get that its a tactical play and there is a chance you might recover it in the air or be able to snare it on the ground but its a low percentage play. Generally you have a fight eight who is a good tactical kicker so why not distribute to them so they can get much better kick off.

I don't know how many times you see a half back in Super Rugby just hand the ball to the opposition with a terrible box kick. Half the time there is zero tactical awareness and its almost a kick and hope strategy.

You never saw George Gregan or Justin Marshall do a box kick but now it seems engrained in all half backs play and its so frustrating to watch.

Surely there are better tactical options available.

Steph Claire Smith is the most entitled and annoying influencer in Australia

So she came up on my Instagram feed and I had a look, curious to know how she had so many follower I viewed some of her posts and then checked out her profile.

From what I can gather she's a rich entitled girl who has had everything given to her on a Silver platter, made an app and podcast with a mate and now tries to be "relatable" by moaning about how tough it is being a mum.

There is nothing inspiring or good about her content. I'm not sure how she gets the followers as its the same drivel with all her posts.

My grandmother was an inspiring woman. She had 11 children and had to look after them most of the time on her own as my grandfather worked a lot. If anyone could make a podcast about "doing it tough" it was her but to be fair she was too fucking busy looking after children. Having two kids when you are filthy rich is not inspiring or difficult and these constant posts by her about her lack of sleep or no mum time are kind of insulting to all the regular parents out there. We all do it and don't carry on like she does.

Steph Claire Smith has a net worth of 42 million. Its time she stopped with the "my life is hard" crap. Its nauseating.

What is with the constant Indiana hate

So I support the Fever, I'm not right wing or MAGA but I couldn't care less if other fans are as in my mind its irrelevant.

Its tiring though when any post you see on the WNBA team or media outlet its someone moaning about the Fever or their fans and some negative MAGA comment.

There was a post on the WNBA sub about the Angel/Paige incident and apparently its us Fever fans who are moaning about it.

I hope that Caitlin tears it up for the rest of the season and just completely dominates the league. This bitching and moaning about the Fever is just getting out of hand from everyone else and I'm not even sure why to be honest.

Things we hate about MAFS

Like some of us out there MAFS is my guilty pleasure. After watching this show for years the two segments I can't stand is:

Rating the other contestants

Intimacy Week

As an older guy I have no idea why they make them rate other people based on attractiveness. Its a trap and it serves zero purpose. You put your partner at the top and everyone below but it always feels a bit off when you have an old geezer judging 25 year old's. It just comes across as a bit sleazy. If you refuse to do it you just come across as a party pooper.

Another pet peeve for the show is intimacy week. These people barely know each other and the way they are forced to be intimate or get closer is just off putting. If people want to do it, they will but they shouldn't have to explain to the "experts" and justify their decision. Some people just don't like having sexy time with people they have known for two minutes and to be honest why would anyone want those endeavours smeared across TV.

You could have a week where the focus is getting to know someone on a personal level without the sex stuff but it gets tiring hearing Alessandra "just do it" to couples who aren't quite there yet.

I also think they need to do better background checks on MAFS. Its not difficult. Any DV/Violence type issues and they don't go on the show. Can we also get real people with real jobs.

On a side note maybe MAFS should just limit the age to 45. None of the older couples have worked at all so why bother. In every couple who has been older there has always been one person who has been a bit crazy or off.

What's a movie where there you have been waiting for a sequel for ages and it probably won't happen

So there are two movies where I have been hanging out for a sequel and its never happened unfortunately.
Those two movies are RocknRolla and The Collector.

I loved RocknRolla and there was suppose to be a sequel years ago in "development called The Real RocknRolla but we never got it. I loved the characters and I think it was one of Gerard Butlers best movies. Its easily my favourite Guy Ritche movie.

The collector series is excellent and the collection (the second movie) is actually a favourite of mine. I have been waiting for ages for the third one to come out (The Collected). Its a shame as its definitely got a lot of fans waiting for a third so hopefully they can make it happen.

Anyone else have any movies they are waiting on a sequel for?

Has anyone used CitySwoon or similar companies in Melbourne?

Hey,

I'm looking at alternative ways of meeting someone other than apps and have seen companies like City Swoon and I think there is some other alternatives on Meet Up. Has anyone tried them and if so, what was the experience like?

I'd rather meet someone face to face but I have heard these events are a bit like job interviews.

Thanks

Pauline Hanson and SBS

So I'm not a football fan but I am on the Socceroo's bandwagon and I am thoroughly impressed by SBS. The coverage and analysis has been excellent and its been better than some of the sports coverage on the other networks.

As I am watching this I can't help but wonder why this moron Pauline would want to get rid of the SBS. The world news show is also excellent and they have a lot of diverse programs. We need channels like SBS and ABC. Yeah I get that they aren't right wing propaganda channels but why is she so against SBS?

Does she not like it as its a channel which promotes diversity and multiculturalism?

One of my favourite shows, Wellington Paranormal is on SBS so Pauline better leave this channel the fuck alone.

7-Eleven Ripping of Franchisees

So I have been watching with interest this 7-eleven saga which is appearing frequently on a current affair.

For those that haven't seen it, its worth watching. There have been numerous stories on it. Basically franchisees sign a 10 year agreement and generally pay a large sum to purchase the store. Anywhere from 400k to well over a million.

They have an expectation that they will get a new agreement once the 10 year period finishes. As the 10 year period comes close to ending 7-eleven advises them the agreement won't be renewed and they should sell the store.

The problem though is that while 7-eleven says to sell the store they won't accept any buyers that the franchisee finds and declines all. Once that 10 period is up they take over the store and pay the owner nothing.

There appears to be a lot of cases and they are all hard working families who now have lost everything.

No one would buy a franchise from them now as they have shown to be completely untrustworthy.

Aside from being immoral surely there is a good faith aspect to this where legally 7-Eleven has to do the right thing by the franchisees.
Do the franchisees have a case for court to get compensation?

Cmon Albo - We don't want Pauline

As a Labor supporter I'm frustrated at some of the decision making that goes on by some of the MP's and the Labor party.
I have no doubt that after the last election; Labor got a bit complacent and arrogant due to the arse kicking the Libs took.

The CGT decision had to be made at some point, it was never going to be a long term policy. Albo should never have said openly that it wasn't going to be changed. I think a lot of people aren't pissed at the changes, but pissed that their prime minister lied about it over and over again. The whole lying thing is going on repeat on sky news and its fucken annoying.

You have politicians like Annika Wells wasting tax payers money and then using technicalities to get around it. How stupid is she? She actually thought it was ok to make her driver wait for seven hours while she was at the Australian Open and then billed us the tax payers over $1000 for it. The level of entitlement is fucken astonishing.

Its about time Albo you represented us, the people. Not the corporates. We don't want or need Pauline Hanson as the next prime minister so stop fucking around and do your job so it doesn't happen.

Rant over

Voicemails for Isabelle

This movie is a fucken emotional roller coaster. I cried numerous times, laughed and then cried a little more.

Sure, the script gets a bit formulaic at times and you can tell where its going but its an excellent movie and in my opinion is probably the romance movie of 2026.
The casting is excellent and the pace of the movie is good. It doesn't drag at any point.
Nick Offerman is entertaining as the chef and Zoey Deutch was excellent in the lead role.

Its definitely worth the watch.

One Nation has fuck all chance at the next election

I honestly don't understand why people think Pauline Hanson has a chance at winning. With Barnaby Joyce and David Farley they have two seats. Pauline would need to sit for a seat and win, and they would need to win 76 seats.
There is no fucken way that would ever happen.

A possible option would be they form a coalition with the Libs and Nationals. I can't see One Nation taking seats from Labor though and any seats they do take would probably come from the Libs or Nationals anyway. They will only get seats in either regional area's or QLD.

That cunt Gina might dump millions into the ON campaign but I still think they have fuck all chance of coming close to winning.

The only people who are saying that she has a chance is the media and some bullshit poll which they probably funded anyway.

The Collected

Love the Collector and the Collection and have been waiting for the third movie for years. Every time I check I always see them saying its in production or its coming soon. It's been in development for over a decade.

Will this movie ever come out or has everyone involved in the original movies just moved on?

Albo - You are becoming a disappointment.

As a Labor supporter I am torn with Albo. He had the opportunity to do something for the good of the people in Australia, more notably - children. I'm specifically referring to gambling reform and removing gambling advertising from tv.

Both he and Anika Wells are gutless in this regard. Cowards to take on the gambling industry and instead listening to that grub Peter V'landys and betting companies. I guess its no surprise though when Sportsbet were making donations to Labor MP's

When they banned smoking advertising I have no doubt the smoking industry complained. Cigarettes are still around. Sports still survived without cigarette sponsorships.

Last I heard, we the voters put Labor in power - Not Peter V or Sportsbet.

When I watch the footy with my kids it annoys me that its thrown down their throat.

It would be nice if they fucken listened to 80% of the Australian population and did what we want rather big business.
