I’m building a Family Dashboard for Android TV. Would you actually use this? (Looking for feedback)

Hey everyone,

I’m developing a Family Dashboard app built specifically for Android TV (but it works also on mobile), and I need some feedback before I spend months finishing it.

The goal is to turn your TV into a central hub when it’s idle, so the whole household is on the same page. It integrates natively as a DayDream (Screensaver) so it kicks in automatically. You can add multiples Google accounts to it.

The Current Setup (Three-Panel Layout):

  • Left: Clock + Live Weather (with manual city search).
  • Center: Google Calendar (multi-account support, Day/Week/Month views).
  • Right: Shared Shopping List & Reminders (local) + Google Tasks integration
  • TV Optimized: Full D-pad navigation and an Anti-Burn-In mode to protect OLED screens.

It’s highly customizable with different UI styles and rotating background photos.

My questions for you:

  1. Would you actually use your TV for this, or do you prefer standard photo ambient modes?
  2. What features are missing that would make this a "must-have"?
  3. Or maybe you would use it on your tablet

If there's enough interest, I am planning to open up a closed Beta for this sub some time in the future. Let me know what you think!

[App] [Promo] I made a Sleep Timer app for Android TV, Google TV, phones and tablets

Hey everyone.

I made Sleep Timer - an app that can automatically turn off your TV, lock your phone/tablet, or put the device into standby after a timer ends.

It’s useful if you fall asleep watching YouTube, Netflix, etc., or if you want a simple way to limit screen time.

It includes quick timers, custom timers, Turn off at scheduling, and an optional countdown overlay.

It’s free to try, with extra features available in Pro.

Upcoming update: choose multiple days for “Turn off at”

Hi everyone,

I’m planning a small but useful update for Sleep Timer.

For the “Turn off at” option, you’ll be able to select more than one day instead of just one.

For example, you could set the device to turn off at a specific time on:

Monday, Wednesday, Friday

or simply choose:

Every day

This should make recurring bedtime/screen time schedules easier to set up.

Feedback is welcome - would this be useful for you?
