The LV Coussin bucket is notoriously hard to replicate, and after 6 months of testing 2 different versions, I’ve got some thoughts. Both bags were purchased from Aadan [link], and the experience with her was very smooth for the past 15 months.

I’m a firm believer in only reviewing a bag after using it for a few months, not just when it’s brand new. You need that time to see how it actually holds up for a comprehensive review.

In my region, the authentic has a much deeper emboss than what you usually see. My husband also pointed out that the authentic's side motifs are a total mess and thoroughly misaligned. Ironically, the reps line them up perfectly, which is probably the biggest giveaway! 🤣

Here’s the breakdown between Royal (Purple Dot) and Huahui (Beige Dot). Authentic is marked with "A":

Royal Factory (Purple Dot)

  • Pros (+): Hardware details and dimensions are spot on. The interlock chain is the correct length, and the leather texture/fold feels right. Includes NFC.
  • Cons (-): The leather is much thinner than the original, making it feel "airy." The enclosure strap is too thin, and after a few months, the side seams are starting to show. It’s delicate and needs to be babied. My strap also arrived missing a button.

Huahui Factory (Beige Dot)

  • Pros (+): The "puff" is much closer to the auth and the emboss is deeper. It feels substantial and premium. The chain engraving actually looks more accurate than Royal’s.
  • Cons (-): Hardware details and leather texture aren't quite right. Dimensions are slightly off (wider base, 1cm shorter), and the chain is one loop too long and more yellow. It has both a serial number and NFC—total identity crisis!

Unsure

  • Lock number is different - Royal version is number #315 and appears more shiny. Huahui version is number #448 and appears more muted. Not sure which one is nearer to the authentic version.

Final Thoughts

If I had to pick, I’d buy Royal again for the accuracy, but I’d only use it sparingly since it’s quite delicate.

On the other hand, Huahui has been my daily workhorse for three months. I’ve been very rough with it and it still looks pristine. It’s cheaper, durable, and the one I’d comfortably travel with.

Surprising Insight: The Huahui version actually gets more compliments." The Royal version is more "muted" and looks closer to how the bag actually appears in real life. I just wish someone would "marry" the best traits of both!

Royal or Huahui? Comparing 2 LV Coussin Buckets after half a year

The Lineup

  • Seller Aadan (TS):
    • LV Pochette (God Factory) - nearly 1 year of use
    • LV Speedy 18 (Royal Factory) 1 year of use
    • LV Speedy 20 (MOCQ) - just arrived
  • Seller W (New):
    • Kirigami Pochette Set ("New Royal"* Factory) - just arrived

*"Middleman" Context

My deduced reasoning (after 1 year as a rep newbie) is that that most sellers are middlemen within a highly complex and obfuscated network. Even when sellers claim to source from the same factory, the actual batch or source can vary based on their specific access and connections. Which is why I have used "Royal" Factory and "New Royal" Factory in my post for my 2 sellers.

Canvas Comparison

1. Texture & Grain

  • Ranking: MOCQ (most prefered) > New Royal > God > Royal Factory (least prefered)
  • Findings: Surprisingly, MOCQ and New Royal offer the most tactile, 3D pebbled texture. They have a distinct "bumpy" feel that closely mimics the authentic canvas grain.

2. Monogram Print

  • Ranking: MOCQ (most prefered) > New Royal > God > Royal Factory (least prefered)
  • Findings: The prints from MOCQ are remarkably crisp and well-defined. While boutique pieces can sometimes appear slightly "smudgy" in person compared to their official online stock photos, I prefer the crispness of the MOCQ print—it gives the bag a more luxurious, high-end aesthetic.

Hardware & Vachetta

Hardware

  • Ranking: MOCQ (most prefered) > God > Royal Factory (least prefered)
  • Findings: MOCQ hardware is less "yellow-gold," which looks more sophisticated. While I haven't done a side-by-side with an authentic piece recently (I have sold my authentic), the tone feels more accurate than the overly yellow hues often found in other factories.

Raw Vachetta

  • Ranking: MOCQ (most prefered) > God/Royal (least prefered)
  • Findings: MOCQ vachetta leans to a slightly more pink, whereas Royal and God lean more yellow. I read that if the Vachetta appears to have a pinkish or peachy tint, it is still considered part of the natural, untreated beige family (more aligned with the authentic). I plan to let these age to a honey-brown before sealing them with Collonil Carbon Pro.

Bonus Feedback

Aadan

I have been a faithful customer of Aadan for the past 14 months, purchasing nearly every single month. She is my 2nd TS as a newbie (Bank was my first) and I have stuck with her since due to my prefered mode of shipping. She is friendly and easy to work with. While I’ve been happy with the vast majority of my purchases, and inevitably buying at this volume eventually leads to a few factory-related issues:

  • God Factory Issues: I’ve had 2 very unsatisfactory experiences where my P9 25 hardware inscrption flaws (totally unacceptable brand inscriptions) were missed during the PSP stage. Aadan attempted to get replacement hardware, but the factory was unresponsive and "couldn't be bothered" attitude. Following the P9 incident and a very poor-quality Speedy 25—where hardware tarnished and vachetta paint chipped badly within weeks—I have stopped purchasing from God Factory unless it is for an extremely sought after piece.
  • Royal Factory: I am currently working with Aadan to rectify the Ultra Black P9 with chipped hardware.

W (New Seller)

I tried W on a whim because she was flexible with my preferred payment methods. She is extremely patient and professional; even when there was a misunderstanding regarding her selling policy, she remained very nice, kind and responsive. Kudos to her!

  • Note on "New Royal" Factory: The Kirigami Pochette Set from W is distinctly different from the Royal factory items Aadan sources—both the canvas texture and the "factory scent" differ too. W is very transparent with her pricing, and her temperament makes her an excellent choice for newbies. The texture is great, but my set arrived without NFC tags, so I'm unsure if that's standard for this factory. Regarding quality: the pink Kirigami piece has significant interior creasing right out of the box. In contrast, the other two pieces have held up perfectly and look pristine even after regular use.

Final Thoughts

MOCQ Factory has officially become my go-to factory for LV Monogram pieces! I am so excited to try more pieces from this factory! The combination of the 3D texture and crisp printing makes it the standout winner of this comparison.

I am posting this as a response to potential buyers who are wondering if the Ultra Black P9 matte hardware from Royal Factory chips. I read somewhere that hardware from Royal Factory wouldn't chip because it is made of solid black metal, which encouraged me to go ahead and order one.

Unfortunately, that is not true. As you can see in the photos, the matte hardware does chip, so it is best to apply hardware protective stickers before using this bag.

Rant: I feel like a very unlucky P9 buyer; the P9 I received from my regular TS A arrived with defective, chipped hardware. The PSP team didn't catch it, even though I specifically asked them to check the engravings. I don't think they will do anything for me now that the bag has already been shipped.

This is the 2nd P9 order for me. The first P9 order from God Factory came with an inaccurate hardware stamp - with L looking like a C and a glaring horizonal lines across!

It’s been a little over a year since I dove into the world of reps, and I’ve deliberately held off on posting this. I really wanted to see if these pieces actually hold up or if they’d fall apart after a few months of real-world use. After 8+ orders with Bank, I’m finally ready to chat about the hits and the (very few) misses.

Bank was my first seller and I haven't looked back. Since I’m fairly fluent in Chinese, communication is easy. I actually appreciate that he’s blunt—he’ll tell me straight if my expectations are unrealistic or if a batch just isn't worth the money.

What’s actually holding up? And my favourites!

  • The Daily Drivers: My LV Mattifying Paper Case and Hair Clip (with chain) have been in heavy rotation for months. The clip is solid as a rock. The button is a tiny bit loose, but it's held its shape perfectly.
  • Better than Auth?: My absolute top pick is the Adidas x Gucci sneakers. My husband got these first (his first foray into reps!) and wouldn't stop praising them. The soles show almost zero wear despite regular use—honestly better than my authentics. They still look pristine, so of course, I had to get a matching pair.

The "Mehh" and the "Oops"

Not everything is a 10/10. My God Factory Multi-Pochette is technically great, but that vachetta just won't patina into that honey glow I want. Then there was the Royal Factory 4-Key Holder where the button fell off after a month. Honestly? Bank rectified it immediately, and one dud out of dozens of items is a track record I’m okay with.

Final Thoughts

I’m so thankful for this community. I was skeptical and hesitant at first, but the tips from you lovely people and Bank’s patience—especially since I grilled him with a million questions before my first buy—really paid off.

I’ve realized that building guan xi with your seller is so vital. Since Bank has my back, he’s now the go-to for SLGs and accessories for both me and my sister-in-law. It feels good to finally contribute back to the community that helped me get started.

How has your first year been? Any "budget" or "mid-tier" finds that ended up outlasting your high-tier stuff? Let's chat!
