This is for people who went no contact. Did you tell them you were doing it? Or did you just disappear one day? Was it one person or an entire family side?

I’m a white 38F and have been with my 35M partner for 8 years. I was told by my father who has never even met my partner that my grandparents are racist and therefore I cannot bring him when I come visit. I was caught off guard since racism has never been brought up to me before from my family.
So I spoke with another family member and told her this and she said that’s not true your grandparents are not racist. She tells me my dad’s nephew has a black girlfriend and they a child together. I then ended up seeing my grandparents and them with the baby smiling in a family picture on social media. So it appears what he has told me was false. He lives 4 hours away from me by car and keeps asking me to come visit which I have not now in 2 years. I’m angry with him and am considering not visiting him again honestly but am looking for some advice because this is a big decision. But I’m pissed and wonder how he has the nerve to ask me to drive 8 hours alone and leave my partner at home again after I’ve been with this person almost a decade.
This is just for anyone who thinks that some topics were written for the show. I know this is a sore subject for some. This is just my opinion but my theory is that some stuff was really unfolding while shooting and some stuff was completely faked for the drama. If anyone has this same theory, what do you think was scripted? Why?
