I can't get my Craftsman with the 16 HP Kohler Tractor engine to start. It was also slightly funky as the engine would take a few clicks to get the rotor to start to spin. Now I get a single click sound when I turn the key. When my 12V car battery is idling and connected I still get just one quite click with each key turn. Therefor I don't think it's the battery. Maybe a dead spot on the starter motor? I disengaged the ide and moved it a few feet in each direction to move the starter position but with the same result (one click). A new starter is like $60 but I thought I would ask for any advice before I order that.
