Is exposure time limited by hardware or by software? [FP6]
Yesterday I was stargazing. I allready knew that the exposure time on the FP6 is limited to 8s, so I took my old phone to take some pictures, which has a limit of 32s. But I couldn't figure out wether the limiting factor is the hardware or the software? But I'm leaning towards software limitation.
UI to modify variables of scripts?
I'm using a few scripts on my server for automations. I was wondering if there was a way to enable/disable some of their functionalities if needed.
For example my server updates itself on the first Sunday of the month. I never had any problem so far, but I'd like to disable this in case I know I'm away and can't fix it if anything goes wrong. So I've imagined that I could have a UPDATE_ENABLED variable inside the script of on/off values, which can be modified through a UI, instead fo needing to SSH into the server. I'd like to do the same with my other scripts too.
Szökési kísérlet
Megpróbált elszökni, mielőtt elvitték volna. :))
My local backup might not be good?
TL;DR: Is 3 x 2.5 inch SMR drives in Raidz1 a bad idea for backups?
So I've recently upgraded from 2.5 inch SMR drives to 3.5 inch ones. I got three of those drives (initially two of them were for data in Raid 1, one was my backup), which I set up into a Raidz1, and use them for local backup. I saw a comment the other day about how the 2.5 icnh drives perform poorly, and are not reliable with ZFS. So my question would be if it was a stupid idea to set them up into Raidz1, because I wanted to gain a 4TB backup partition. I was planning to use them in a remote backup server at my parent's house in the future.
Emotional damage (not because of my cleft though)
So the other day a man came into the office, to friendly meeting with my bosses. He came wih his kindergarten-aged son.
So I went out, to say hi to them. The kid looked at me, then turned to his dad, and started to ask loudly, with interruptions: "Dad"... 'why does that man" - at this point I started thinking about what response to give when he finishes his question about my nose. But like in a panic mode, not realising that he asked his dad, and not me. - "have no hair?"
My stress went away instantly, and I've almost started laughing. For context: I'm bald.
Then the emotional damage kicked in when I've realised that he used the word which we only use for people whom we consider old - in Hungarian. Well, at 27 it caused me a bit of an emotional damage, and since then I feel old. But hey, ever since I only laugh on this :D
On a more serious note, I was surprised that it was weirder to him that I had no hair, than my nose, although I'm quite sensitive about it. I might overestimate what people usually think about it?
Is it possible to follow a curve in a zoomed in image?
I'd be curios if I could move a zoomed in image from A to B (blue arrow) following a curve, or the only solution is to add multiple points in between?
I've tried to do it on Kdenlive, but it doesn't have that option, moving from A to B can only be on a straight line.
How to follow a curbed line seamlessly?
https://reddit.com/link/1t98xix/video/uomxi3kjob0h1/player
So I have multiple lines, like in the video, which should be followed, but I was only able to do with sharp direction changes. Could I make it to be seamless somehow, withouth making many stops?
At the moment I have a NPM on my hs, which can redirect me to local services and to vps services too through Tailscale. Now I'd like to use Pangolin for this, but I don't know how.
How I use Tailscale and NPM is the following: I have my admin.mydomain.com directed to my server's Tailscale IP. In case of Dockge, NPM redirects to 172.17.0.1, for local instance, and for the server's instacen it redirects me to the Tailscale IP of the VPS. Now I'd like to change Tailscale to Pangolin, but I couldn't figure out how could I make the two PC see each others like they don with Tailscale.
For the past few months, whenever my laptop goes into sleep mode and I wake it up, the screen is very dim. The only solution is to log out or restart it. Is this just happening to me, or has anyone else experienced something similar? I have an Asus TUF FA506QR, and using KDE Plasma.
Last year I've got my first home server, unfortunately I've made the mistake of getting SMR drives. Anyway last week I've made an upgrade to 4x8TB CMR drives in RAIDZ2! 😁
