Should I help CDS along or wait for for the CDS Fairy?

My neighbor found a kitten (in the pic) nearby. He is bold, brash and slightly beligerent. He chased all my kids (4 of them) around the house, he wasn't fazed when Cinder hissed at him, he went right up and booped her on the nose and moved along to explore everything else. I fell in love. Neighbor is keeping him. I now want a kitten.

I was volunteering for a day at the shelter in Dallas and there were kittens everywhere. But none of them caught my heart. I want a beligerent one. I don't care what color or anything else. I just want a bold kitty that will be all "I have arrived and you are going to love me!" to my current kids. Bold, brash and full of confidence.

I posted on Nextdoor, and people were like: "kittens don't have personalities" and "we can't predict what their personalities are." I KNOW that. I just want one that starts off bold, brash and belligerently sure that he is going to be loved by all. I think my currents kids will react best to this type of personality for introductions.

I am wondering if I should reach out to a Distribution center and ask them for a match. Or if I should wait for the CDS Fairy. The CDS Fairy was a frequent visitor in CA. But in TX I have not found one baby. I got two kids from distribution centers here. But I really do feel like if it's meant to be it is meant to be. And yet there are coyotes and cougars nearby and I suspect that any strays around here are lunch :(

What would you do in my place?

Community, friendships and addiction in Spokane

Hi. We've been looking for somewhere to move to that fits us, hopefully for the next 10+ years. We're 50.

What I like about Spokane:

  1. I like the four seasons. I like that it gets both hot and cold. And that while it is grey it is less gray than portland and seattle. I understand the wildfire threat, and that there are earthquake faults there. We'd buy a home in the city.

  2. Property prices are within our price range. Property taxes are much better than where we are. And I love that we can get a small historic home with character in our budget.

  3. I like that gardening there will be much easier. That there are lots of good grocery stores, fresh produce. This is very important to me.

  4. I am a Democratic socialist and left of he current Democratic party.

What I don't like: 1) Crime (obviously) 2) racism and xenophobia (also obviously) outside the city.

What I am unsure about: making friends and finding a community. And resturants/foodie scene.

What I have seen makes it look like the crime and the foodie scene are improving. And this is a long term move for us, so improvement is a big win.

But I am wondering about community, making friends, friendliness. Meeting authentic people.

Can any of you speak to that please?

I know everyone has opinions and preferences. But we are an older couple (50) on our honeymoon: we like to people watch, enjoy a good food scene that is different from what we will get in Madrid (5 days in Madid). And a different vibe -- maybe more romantic than Madrid and very welcoming. We just want to walk around and feel like we are somewhere different. Sit at cafes and people watch, enjoy the history and culture. We aren't night life people at all. And we'll be getting museums and such in Madrid.

I currently have reservations in Cordoba for 2 days. But a friend said I should go to Valencia instead as I love the ocean (and not near the water where I currently, regrettably live).

Thoughts and advice greatly appreciated.

ETA: Don't want to spend more than 2 hours travel time for one-way side trip on high speed train.

Pictures 1 and 2 are my current hair. Other than the blue it is virgin hair. In August- September I want to go to Autumn Rainbow (pictures 3-5) but I am mot sure of placement.

What would be the easiest to keep up? Which looks the best?

Other suggestions welcome

He’s not the brightest bulb but I think as a result he is more willing to suffer my occasional trespasses on his dignity.

I have seen so many cute orange kids in hats I decided to indulge. He’s a good sport. Of course he took it off the first chance he got (last pic). But I still got my pictures!

So every time someone on social media says: “I don’t like confrontation” I think: none of us do. That’s why it’s called adulting. Because it sucks and none of us want to do it. Buy we do, and you now need to as well.

Am I the Jerk and lacking empathy?
