How bad is the grade inflation?

For context I'm a freshman and this is my first semester as an accounting student. I originally went in person to a school caller Villanova, but it just wasn't for me.

I feel like the courses on asu online are like, suspiciously easy. To be fair I've only taken gen eds so far, and imagine once I get to my major courses things will be more difficult.

But like, the coursework feels so braindead that I'm beginning to feel like this isn't a "real" school (ik your diploma makes no distinction of online vs in person, it just feels like the course rigor is below that of like highschool courses)

Respondus lockdown issues??

Hey everyone, so for my sociology 101 class I need to use respondus. It's been really clunky and takes forever to load for the regular quizzes but I've managed to get it to work. But now I need to take an exam with webcam on, and it just gets stuck on the pre exam loading screen. I have no idea what to do. Ive tried restarting my laptop (surface pro), and re installing it, but it's just not working, how do I fix this?

What are the scariest films that don't feature supernatural elements?

Im a big film nerd, but my horror knowledge is really lacking, im more into dramas and psyche thrillers. But my girlfriend is mainly into horror so I want to be able to appreciate the genre more.

What are some absolutely terrifying horror films that will give me nightmares that don't have supernatural elements or very light elements, and that are very gory. Some horror movies I like off the top of my head are long legs, pearl, the shining, and the terrifier series.

Also I haven't seen any of the major ones besides Texas chainsaw, which i personally felt was dated and lacked bite for a modern viewer, though I can understand its historical and cultural significance. Looking forward for all the reccs :)

Did Antinous know Odysseus was the one to kill him, or did he die thinking a beggar ended him

I ask because Odysseus doesn't reveal himself until Antinous was already fatally shot. I'm reading the fables translation for context.

When and how can we submit course evaluations?+prof using ai

Hey everyone, first time student here, I was wondering when and how we can make course evaluations now that session A is coming to an end.

I specifically ask because my english 101 prof, Sarah Yaron is using ai to grade/give me feedback on my essays. I was tipped off at first because I noticed a lot of the feedback was what chatgpt was telling me when I pasted my essays in for pre submission feedback. I then have copy and pasted her "comments" into ai checkers and they've all come back as 75% plus ai.

Like i dont wanna be that guy, but why am I spending my time writing these essays when the prof cant even be bothered to read them herself???

Is this feedback from my professor on my essay ai?

[My name], You’ve written a thoughtful and engaging story that clearly shows how a meaningful experience helped you grow as a learner. Your essay stands out because you examine literacy and learning beyond the classroom, showing how real-life experiences can challenge our thinking, deepen our understanding, and broaden our knowledge. Your trip to India is a strong example for talking about personal growth, cultural awareness, and learning throughout life. One of the best parts of your essay is how deeply you reflect on your experience. Instead of just telling the story of your trip, you explain what you learned and how it changed the way you see things. When you talk about reconnecting with your family’s homeland, questioning your own assumptions, and seeing the limits of secondhand knowledge, you show strong critical thinking. The link between your experiences and what you learned is clear and gives your essay a real sense of purpose. Your essay includes several vivid scenes that help readers picture your experience. The way you describe stepping out of the airport, moving through busy streets, seeing the driving culture, and meeting family again creates strong images and brings your story to life. These details let readers feel some of the same culture shock and adjustment you went through. Another strong point is how you connect your personal experience to bigger ideas. When you talk about how animals are treated, cultural differences, and why it’s risky to make generalizations, you show that you’re growing and becoming more self-aware. Instead of judging quickly, you explain how your views changed as you learned more about the people and culture around you. This makes your essay thoughtful and insightful, not just a description of events. Your essay fits the Student Story genre well because it focuses on your personal growth and the lessons you learned, which other students can relate to. Your message that learning goes beyond the classroom is clear and works well for an academic audience. The ending supports this idea by encouraging readers to try new things and see learning as a chance, not just a task. The main thing to work on is the organization and focus on your audience. Sometimes, the essay shifts quickly between your story, cultural analysis, and bigger ideas. If you focus more on your personal growth as a student and learner, your story will feel more connected. Also, some parts repeat the point about firsthand experience versus theory. Making those sections shorter and more direct would make your essay even stronger. Also, the Kendrick Lamar quote is meaningful and fits your experience, but it’s a bit long. If you sum up part of it in your own words, you’ll have more room to share your own voice and keep your experiences at the heart of the essay.

Looking for cinematic story/action games

Games I love: Rdr2, Uncharted series, God of war (original trilogy included), the Playstation spiderman games, last of us games (yes, even 2), the gta games, super mario oddysey, smash bros, Invincible vs, injustice games; stuff like that.

I didnt like ghost of tsushima; it felt like a ubisoft game, carried only by its art style. I didnt like the arkham games, they just felt dated because of spiderman (hot/bad take sure, but it's how I feel). Didnt like the mafia games, the stories felt generic/corny. Didn't like cyberpunk or skyrim, they feel too "gamey", like the worlds dont feel real, they feel like video game worlds. I dont like souls like nor rpg games.

I want games that have exceptional/engaging stories/characters, big action set pieces, and fun/accessible gameplay. Or have i already played all the best ones that fit my preferences??

Summer aid still not disbursed?

My pell grant still hasn't been disbursed yet even though it's been supposedly ready for weeks now. I was wondering if anyone else is dealing with this and perhaps knows when it will be disbursed?

How nessecary is Adobe acrobat?

For context im a freshman accountancy major that started yesterday. For my readings I personally vastly prefer the standard Microsoft pdf viewer, I think Adobe is kind of annoying.

For asu veterans, does it matter which pdf software I use?

I think my finaid is incomplete?

So I start on Monday and I have a -1500 SAI. I got awarded loans for summer, but no grants. If I qualify for max aid I should at least recieve some pell grant?

It's showing that that is my finalized aid but I called finaid earlier this week and they said they'll put in a help request, I checked its status yesterday and it was just marked as resolved with no update.

Is anyone else having this issue?
