6204/05 project dial

The 6205 dial is taking shape... I know the font isn't perfect, but for a budget project, it’ll do. I usually start with blank black dials—no markers or text—but I have plenty of damaged ones at home, so I used one of those this time. I removed the markers, text, and finish using a sander, then used very fine sandpaper to smooth out the sanding marks. I washed the dial with degreasing soap and sprayed it first with an acrylic primer, followed by a matte black paint. After 24 hours, I applied one of the decals I make myself and dabbed it with WD-40 cleaner: this not only removes glue residue but also helps eliminate that "brand-new" look. Finally, I sprayed the whole thing with a matte clear coat. Now it's time to re-lume the markers... stay tuned.

Seadweller 1665

Hi guys, I’ve been wanting to build a Sea-Dweller 1665 for a while, but—as with all my creations—it had to be budget-friendly 🤑. The opportunity arose when I bought a case on AliExpress for just a few euros (you can see it in the last photo). I removed the crown tube to make it easier to work on the crown guards, reducing their size and trying to shape them to look as close to the original as possible. Then, I gave the entire case a brushed finish. Finally, I reinstalled the tube and fitted an Athaya Triplock crown. The dial and hands (which I slightly aged) are from Raffles, as is the Oyster 93150 bracelet. I also lightly aged the insert and rebuilt the dot (the pearl). I hope you like it; personally, considering how little I spent, I really like it 😅. Specifications:

AliExpress case and insert

Raffles dial, hands, and bracelet

Athaya crown and tube

Caseback... I don't remember where I got it 🤔
