What kind of cybernetic augmentations would you give to a fighter pilot in a cyberpunk setting?

Some examples I can think of are: body modifications to help him resist g-forces, Implants that would let a pilot control their aircraft via thought and something that increases endurance in case they get shot down behind enemy lines

Do we ever get any information on the helicopters featured in Innocence? The ones with the bird wings?

It's a really cool design and I've been looking for art of it with little success.

With AC8 coming in a few months, if Project Aces included one(1) PW easter egg/reference in the game somewhere, what would you want it to be? I know it isn't gonna happen but its fun to think about.

Here are some examples I thought of:

  1. Someone playing PW in the background of a cutscene

  2. A random background pilot having a callsign from the game (like 'Prez' or 'Monarch')

  3. A billboard on top of a building advertising the game like they do with the Ridge Racer cars.

[fantasy] Hi everyone, I recently wrote up a Bretonnian Knight oc and wanted to share him with all of you! Hopefully this is alright to do in this subreddit. 😅

Judicaël Suchet

'Treasure of the Sea Dragon'

Bretonnian Knight from Parravon

Born to a peasant family in the village of Rothenbourg, Judicaël was raised by his mother and older sister after his Carcassonnian father was killed whilst foraging in Athel Loren with his two sons. Suchet himself was returned to his mother in the Glade of Children while his brother, who had displayed an affinity for magic from an early age, was approached by the Fay Enchantress and never seen again. Once he reached adulthood, Judicaël moved to the neighbouring village of Vaudémont and was almost immediately chosen to rescue Lady Amelia Saint-Cyr, a Prophetess who had been imprisoned by Vaudémont's ruling baron. As a newcomer with no familial connections to the village, Suchet was seen as the most expendable option and was expected to fail like many had before him. Armed with nothing but his father's sword, Judicaël successfully infiltrated the baron's castle and freed the prophetess. Unwilling to let the baron continue his reign of terror, Lady Amelia used her astromancy to slay her captor and his minions. Suchet was able to convince the Prophetess to spare the baron's son and the two returned to Vaudémont, where Judicaël was made a Knight of the Realm for completing his quest but was not granted land due to his peasant background.

With no lands or wealth of his own, Sir Judicaël initially struggled to finance his knighthood. Luckily, the peasants of Rothenbourg and Vaudémont banded together to provide their new protector with a suit of armour fit for a knight of Bretonnia while local Dwarfs crafted a pair of mithril weapons for Suchet to wield. This generosity still left the knight without a mount but Sir Judicaël did not mind because he was secretly afraid of horses. As thanks for saving her life, Lady Amelia gave Suchet a Dawnstone pendant from the ancient city of Lybaras and helped the former peasant navigate the complexities of Bretonnian society. Suchet was shunned by many of his fellow knights but found a key ally in the Duke of Parravon after returning a stolen artefact to the Wood Elves of Tirsyth and destroying the Chaos Cult that had originally taken it.

After nearly a decade of protecting his fellow villagers and fighting wars for his duke, Sir Judicaël chose to take up the Questing Vow and prove himself to the Lady of the Lake. Suchet hoped to meet his Patron Goddess and ask her what had become of his brother, though he kept this desire to himself. Sir Judicaël travelled across the known world slaying monsters and defending the innocent, more focused on saving lives than winning the Lady's favour in most cases. The knight's travels eventually brought him to the Cathayan port city of Fu-Chow, where he became entangled with the Mistress of the Jade Sea herself. Suchet's quest came to an end when he slew a Chaos Lord riding a mighty Manticore in Beichai. Sir Judicaël then returned to Bretonnia and met with the Lady of the Lake, who revealed that the knight's brother was alive and serving her as a member of the Lost Sons. With his question answered, Suchet drank from the Holy Grail and became one of the legendary Grail Knights. A century later, Sir Judicaël would be reunited with his brother when the Lost Sons came to his aid during an apocalyptic Chaos invasion.

About a year ago someone made a post suggesting that the unidentified aircraft that the Belkan Air Force fought during the Wellow Incident were UFOs and I thought I'd bring that idea back but instead of flying saucers it was these guys from Xevious!

Kinda hoping beyond hope that we see these guys in AC8 lol

Were there any diecast aircraft brands (like Corgi or Dragon) that featured folding/collapsible landing gear?

Most brands I've found seem to have removable gear but I was wondering if any had actual folding gear?

How long until we get an AC game where WE get the giant flying aircraft carrier???

Give me a flying base we have to defend, it doesn't have to be op like the aigaion it just has to carry planes and fly

Hell, at this point I'd be happy if in ac8 our carrier is picked up by one of the budget arsenal birds!

Please help, I think a comic artist traced a commission of mine.

A few years ago I commissioned the wonderful Kharak to create a 3d model of the Centurion-class battlecruiser from KOTOR 2 (released on sketchfab on 29/10/22). We added a few details, like the side hangar bays, and while browsing wookieepedia I found this image from the comic 'Battle of Jakku — Last Stand 1' released on 25/12/24. This canon depiction of the centurion seems to be based upon my commission, looking at those side hangars.

I don't really know what to do with this information, if anything can be done. In a way I'm honoured but it would have been nice for them to have asked.

I've included images of the drawing, my commission and a legends image of the centurion that features no side hangars as proof.

Looking for a demon/monster transformation from an old TV show or movie.

Hi all, back in the wild west days of YouTube I found a couple of videos of women being transformed into blue demon monsters with yellow eyes (nothing fancy, just blue skin, yellow contacts and sharp teeth iirc) and for years I've been looking for the show/movie they're from.

In the first video, a blonde woman runs out of a bar/club into an alley and gets sprayed with steam from a random pipe that transforms her. In the second, a black-haired woman is tied to a table in a boarded up house and unconscious. An invisible force bursts into the house and possesses her at the same time someone stabs her, that stabbing part's a bit fuzzy so I could have misremembered it.

That's all I can remember, does it sound familiar to anyone? It's a totally sfw scene both times. If you know the source please let me know, thanks :)

Hi everyone! A while back I posted the story of a Freeborn Clanner OC I created. I've now done the same for a Spheroid OC who served with the Eridani Light Horse. I know ELH OCs have a bad rep but I swear I'm not planning legal action! I look forward to hearing what you all think. :)

(Most of what happens in this guy's life should conform to Sarna.net, but I took some liberties to fill in the gaps.)

Arthur Trevelyan

MechWarrior in the Eridani Light Horse's 71st Light Horse Regiment (White Horse Regiment)

BattleMechs:

BL-6b-KNT Black Knight

Warhammer C 3

BNC-7S Banshee

Born on Izar in 3032, Arthur could trace his lineage back to the SLDF's 11th Royal Heavy Assault Regiment, which had joined the Lyran Commonwealth in 2782 and so did not participate in Operation EXODUS. Trevelyan's ancestors were originally from the Terran Hegemony world of Lone Star, which had slowly declined after the Amaris Civil War and was rendered uninhabitable during the First Succession War. After joining the Commonwealth, the Loners chose to settle down in the Federation of Skye and founded the town of Greenleaf on Izar with the help of others in the newly renamed 7th Arcturan Guards (The Urania Regiment) who still believed in what the Star League stood for. This settlement was named after Major General Harrison Greenleaf and built on top of an underground SLDF base which was later wiped from the records by the town's inhabitants. The people of Greenleaf used this base to safeguard a large number of lostech relics, including a handful of functioning BattleMechs, and kept them out of the hands of the Lyrans during the Succession Wars.

By the time Arthur was born, most of Greenleaf's residents were unaware of the secrets buried beneath their feet. Trevelyan's family were among those who still believed in the ancient Star League and helped to keep the SLDF base running in the 31st century. Arthur and his older sister, Alice, spent their teenage years learning how to repair and maintain Star League technology so that they could take over from their parents when the time came. The siblings were also taught how to pilot a BattleMech in case they ever needed to defend the town from pirates or agents of ComStar's Explorer Corps. In their free time, Arthur enjoyed drawing and developed an interest in history while Alice preferred to watch the Solaris Games, having been a fan of the Black Lions Cooperative since childhood. Once he came of age, Arthur applied to study at the New Avalon Institute of Science in order to fulfil his dream of becoming a MechWarrior like his ancestors in the SLDF. While Alice was supportive of his decision to leave, Trevelyan's parents saw fighting for the Great Houses as a betrayal of the Star League's ideals and refused to see him off after his application was accepted. Arthur took two keepsakes with him to New Avalon: an old Hegemony Medal that had been awarded to Captain Rosamia Trevelyan during Operation CHIEFTAIN and a picture of the captain in her hometown of Cliffside on Lone Star. While studying at the Fulker Military Academy, Arthur was invited to join the Eridani Light Horse by Major Scott Hinesick, a veteran of the mercenary unit who appreciated Trevelyan's commitment to the ideals of the Star League. The amateur historian was quick to accept Major Hinesick's offer, seeing it as the perfect combination of his dream and his family's duties, and was transferred to the Eridani Light Horse's Training Battalion at Fort Telemar on Kikuyu. It was there that Arthur first met Lesa Armstrong, a fellow trainee whose family had served in the Eridani Light Horse for six generations. At first, a heated rivalry developed between the two but this competition eventually matured into a lifelong friendship.

In 3054, Arthur completed his training and was assigned to the rebuilding 71st Light Horse Regiment (White Horse Regiment). Now a MechWarrior of the 82nd Heavy Cavalry Battalion (Kerensky's Favorite) serving in the Command Lance of the 41st Support Company (Ass Extractors), Sergeant Trevelyan was eager to face the Clans in battle and punish them for invading the Inner Sphere and betraying their own legacy. To make sure he was properly equipped, Arthur's sister convinced the rest of the Star League loyalists on Izar to send her brother one of the BattleMechs from the SLDF base under Greenleaf. This delivery revealed the existence of the base to the Eridani Light Horse, who agreed to protect Greenleaf's secrets in exchange for limited access to their lostech cache. Following the White Horse Regiment's reactivation in 3055, Trevelyan fought against Clan Jade Falcon for three years and was part of the coalition force that liberated Coventry in 3058. Arthur was wounded while defending the city of Leitnerton on Coventry but enjoyed a brief fling with Lieutenant Donna Green of the Wolf's Dragoons while he was recovering. Following the formation of the Second Star League and the Eridani Light Horse's incorporation into the new SLDF, Trevelyan was promoted to lieutenant and transferred to the 82nd's Battalion Command Lance (Bodyguards) while they were rebuilding on Dieron. Arthur had little time to celebrate the return of the Star League before the Eridani Light Horse was assigned to Task Force Serpent and sent to the Clan Homeworlds to destroy Clan Smoke Jaguar. During the journey, the Izarian was reunited with Lieutenant Lesa Armstrong, who had been assigned to the 11th Recon Battalion (Alley Cats) back in 3054 and now commanded the Strike Lance of the 3rd Recon Company (Slashers). As part of Task Force Serpent's invasion of Huntress, the White Horse Regiment captured the Field of Heroes and Clan Smoke Jaguar's genetic repository but later suffered heavy losses during Khan Lincoln Osis' counterinvasion. Arthur and Lesa both survived Operation SERPENT, though Trevelyan developed mild PTSD as a result.

Following the failure of a peacekeeping mission on Milos during the Capellan-St. Ives War, Arthur and his regiment returned to Huntress in 3067 to garrison the enclave of the Second Star League and relieve the 151st Light Horse Regiment (Dark Horse Regiment). Trevelyan had been promoted to captain in 3065 but remained with the Bodyguards and now served directly under Major Claudia Endris, who had studied at the NAIS at the same time as the Izarian. Not long after they arrived on Huntress, the 71st suffered a blow to their morale when they received word that the Second Star League had been dissolved at the Fourth Whitting Conference. Now alone on the former homeworld of Clan Smoke Jaguar, the White Horse Regiment resisted multiple Trials of Possession from the Clans occupying the planet but could not replace their losses and were slowly whittled down. In an effort to save her regiment from annihilation, Colonel Sandra Barclay negotiated with the Khan of Clan Goliath Scorpion for the 71st to be absorbed by her Clan after participating in a Dance of the Scars ritual. Those who did not wish to join the Goliath Scorpions were permitted to return to the Inner Sphere before the challenge took place, leaving Arthur torn between his family on Izar and the Eridani Light Horse. In the end, Captain Trevelyan chose to stay and eventually joined Clan Goliath Scorpion's Delta Galaxy (Borodino Garrison) as part of the 1st Eridani Lancers. In an effort to contact his family for what could be the final time, Arthur approached Captain Telemachus Zeek Jr. of the 12th Motorized Infantry Company (Kingpins), who had chosen to leave Huntress and reunite with his family on Dieron, and asked the captain to deliver a message to Alice on Izar once he reached the Inner Sphere. Telemachus agreed to pass on the message, which included the MechWarrior's reasons for staying and an apology for not coming home, but Trevelyan could not be sure that it would be delivered in the chaos of the Jihad.

In 3072, the 1st Eridani Lancers were deployed to participate in a Trial of Reaving that had been issued by Clan Star Adder to punish Galaxy Commander Lincoln Dinour for killing two million civilians during the orbital bombardment of a Society enclave on Brim. This massacre also caused many in the Borodino Garrison to grow disillusioned with their Galaxy Commander but there was no time to challenge him before the trial began. Following their narrow defeat on Brim's Basalt Plains, Arthur and Lesa fled with the surviving members of their Galaxy rather than become abtakha and used a Society assault against the exhausted Star Adders as cover for their escape. After taking charge of their fellow fugitives, Armstrong and Trevelyan encountered the Solahma Cluster of Clan Snow Raven's Gamma Galaxy (The Hawkshead Galaxy), which had been left behind when their Clan abandoned the planet. The two groups agreed to join forces and escaped Brim by repairing a Lion-class DropShip and using it to commandeer a mothballed Scout-class JumpShip hidden behind one of the planet’s moons. The lone JumpShip, renamed "Branwen" by Star Colonel Giorgi of the Solhama Cluster, then rendezvoused with a Snow Raven convoy led by Star Admiral Anta McKenna that was travelling to the Inner Sphere as part of Clan Snow Raven's exodus from the Clan Homeworlds. Several months into the journey, the convoy was intercepted by WarShips belonging to Clans Steel Viper and Star Adder in the Ghent system. During the battle, the Branwen was able to escape along with fifteen other Snow Raven JumpShips and eventually reached the Periphery. Rather than joining Clan Snow Raven in the Outworlds Alliance, the crew of the Branwen chose to seek asylum in the Magistracy of Canopus but landed on the world of Detroit in the midst of a Blakist invasion. Using the BattleMechs they had brought with them from Brim, Arthur's irregulars helped the planetary militia and the Canopian Highlanders hold out against the invaders until reinforcements from the Magistracy and the Capellan Confederation arrived. Together, the defenders were able to drive off the Word of Blake Militia's 34th Division (Purity of Honor) and continued to protect the planet until the end of the Jihad in 3081.

The fall of the Word of Blake ended their disruption of the HPG network, allowing Trevelyan to finally contact his family in Greenleaf. The tearful response he received from Alice revealed that Telemachus had delivered Arthur's message as promised but their parents had passed away three days before it reached them. As soon as he was able, Trevelyan returned to Izar, which was now a member of the Republic of the Sphere, to help his sister and rest after piloting a BattleMech for more than twenty-five years. Lesa and several other members of Arthur's ragtag band went with him, helping Greenleaf to flourish in the 3080s and using their Clan experience to better preserve the town's lostech cache. While catching up with his sister, Trevelyan learned that she had worked as the senior technician of the Solaris Games' Dispossessed Cooperative while he was garrisoning the Second Star League's enclave on Huntress. Now free from his life as a MechWarrior, Arthur joined Interstellar Expeditions in 3089 and was providing security for Dr. Wade Laurence Beauregard when the explorer discovered definitive proof of the connection between Clan Wolverine and the Minnesota Tribe in 3095. In an attempt to keep the truth hidden, Blakist remnants attacked the expedition with nuclear weapons and wiped them out completely. The Izarian only survived by taking shelter in a bunker that had been found on the edge of the excavation site and was being used to store recovered artefacts. To his surprise, Arthur was quickly rescued by the Fidelis, who had been shadowing the expedition, and made sure to bring what evidence he could back with him to the Inner Sphere. Eager to share Dr. Beauregard's findings, Trevelyan broadcasted them across the entire HPG network but his lack of academic credentials caused many to dismiss the transmission.

What's your favourite Black Knight variant?

Personally I'm big on the Royal 6b and the Clanbuster 9 but can't pick between the two, help would be appreciated haha

What are ranks like in the Eridani Light Horse?

From what I understand, all Mechwarriors in the ELH would be Sergeants since that's apparently how the SLDF did it in the star league days, but can they be promoted without being placed in a command position? Like, for instance, a Lieutenant serving in a lance but not commanding it?

Idea for a Crusader/Viper hybrid mech?

Hi all, I'm a big fan of the Crusader and the Viper (the inner sphere one) and was wondering if anyone knew of a variant or custom crusader that combines the two, specifically by replacing the LRM-15s with the Viper's Binary Laser Cannons? Both use the crusis-b chassis so in universe I imagine it wouldn't be hard to do, but I could be wrong!

To me it would be a vast improvement as I think the LRM-15s are kinda goofy, but would such a change work well on a crusader or is this just a straight up bad idea? I look forward to finding out! 😅

Hi again all! I recently posted a description of an oc of mine and received a lot of feedback, for which I am grateful. I used it to rewrite some parts of his backstory, trying to explain how a freeborn warrior could rise so high without him coming off as a mary sue. I'm excited to hear what you all think this time around!

Janus "Freeclaw" Bekker

MechWarrior of Clan Ghost Bear's Omega Galaxy (Raging Bears)

BattleMechs:

Shadow Hawk IIC 2

Night Gyr A

Marauder II C (not IIC haha)

A freeborn MechWarrior who was born on Arcadia in 3027, Janus was the son of Star Captain Bernice Bekker, who would lead the Shrill Keshik of Clan Ghost Bear's Beta Galaxy (Night Howlers) during the Clan Invasion. Janus' father, Grafton, was a member of the scientist caste who had treated Bernice for Laen's Regret while she was stationed at Fort Fairchild on Tokasha. During his childhood, Janus developed an interest in astronomy that often frustrated the Den Mother of his sibko. He also benefitted from the counsel of Laurie Tseng, a close friend of his mother's who would one day become both Loremaster and the commanding officer of Beta Galaxy. After completing his training and defeating two opponents in his Trial of Position, the young MechWarrior became a Star Commander within the 332nd Assault Cluster (The Iowa Blacklancers) of Beta Galaxy. This placement of a freeborn warrior within a front-line Cluster had been orchestrated by Laurie and Bernice, who believed that their ristar's abilities would be wasted in a Provisional Garrison Cluster. Now in command of the 469th Assault Trinary's Bravo Assault Star, Janus faced opposition from those who believed that a freeborn warrior was not fit to lead or fight alongside his trueborn comrades. He also began to doubt himself after discovering the truth behind his assignment to the Night Howlers.

During Operation REVIVAL, the Star Commander fought on Predlitz, Soverzene, Marawi and Toffen, earning the respect and loyalty of his Star along the way. At the Battle of Tukayyid, Janus and the rest of Beta Galaxy destroyed the Com Guards' 121st Division (Effective Action) but failed to capture the city of Luk. They later defended Spanac, holding the city until a marginal victory was declared and Clan Ghost Bear withdrew from the planet. During the fighting, the death of Star Captain Richard Bekker in Holth Forest prompted a Trial of Bloodright that took place after the Truce of Tukayyid came into effect. Wishing to carry the bloodname of his mother, Janus sought permission to participate from saKhan Aletha Kabrinski and obtained it on the condition that he forgo sponsorship and prove himself by winning the Grand Bloodname Melee. After barely surviving the melee and earning his place in the trial, the MechWarrior claimed his bloodname by winning all of his duels but almost died in the process. This victory helped Janus move past his self-doubt and also impressed the saKhan, who began to take a personal interest in the freeborn warrior.

In 3055, Janus Bekker was transferred to the 5th Bear Guards (Arctic Thunder), a Cluster in his Clan's newly-formed Omega Galaxy (Raging Bears). In the same year, Clan Ghost Bear began their migration to the Inner Sphere and founded the Ghost Bear Dominion in 3060. This time of relative peace allowed Janus to focus on his Great Work: an orrery depicting the Pentagon Worlds. By the time the First Combine-Dominion War broke out in 3062, Bekker had reached the rank of Star Captain and been placed in command of the reborn 49th Supernova Striker Trinary. During the Jihad, Janus and his warriors fought on Luthien, Kaus Borealis, Dyev and Dieron. After saving Omega Galaxy from complete collapse on Dieron, Bekker was promoted to Star Colonel and awarded the Shield of Tseng. Now in command of the 5th Bear Guards, Janus helped rebuild the Raging Bears and became an important bridge between the veterans of the Clan and the Rasalhagian recruits. Outside of battle, Janus fell in love with Star Captain Angela "The Claw" Bekker and finally completed his orrery in 3083. It was during the age of the Republic of the Sphere that Janus participated in the Clawing Ritual and successfully slew a Ghost Bear, becoming the first ever freeborn Clawed warrior and receiving the nickname "Freeclaw".

Hi all, I've been looking in on clan lore and had a thought: What is the relation between two warriors with the same bloodname/in the same bloodname house? Are all members with the same bloodname related genetically and would a relationship between two of these warriors be frowned upon?
