An observation Vol.3

Why does half the dudes under 22 in Langley think they’re the next Conor McGregor without having a single day of combat sport training 😭

edit: No, 3 weeks of karate training when you were 11 doesn't count.

edit2: Neither does getting in a fight in your peewee league hockey time where you both started crying afterwards

An observation Vol.2

You people don’t actually want traffic fixed. Half of you wouldn’t have bought spotless trucks with 14-inch lift kits just to haul three bags of groceries and a piece of rebar while sitting 3 inches off somebody’s bumper on 200th Street going absolutely nowhere, just to drive to your jobsite to rip the vape and tell the apprentice "oh I would have made it to the NHL if I didn't sprain my ankle in '08" 😂

Every new Langley development lookin like a credit union and a horse barn had an ugly ass baby named Weston 😭. Which one of you are designing this shit? I know for a fact you're at work reading this shit rn.

If a mysterious force was summoned here and removed every white Tesla overnight I will personally organize a parade because the average commute time would drop by at least 55% and they would lose the ability to insist upon people they "work" remotely.

"ohh i moved here before the Patagonia wearin dickheads opened their artisinal sourdough shops and $80 eucalyptus candles!!!" Congratulations? You're still traffic too. 😭

BCIT has apparently removed Saturday exam invigilation.

As far as I know this was one of the only services of its kind in BC for students balancing full-time work, apprenticeships, shift work, and commuting.

North Van Library offers weekend exam invigilation, though exclusive to it's residents/business owners.

For a school that promotes accessibility and flexible pathways for working adults, this decision feels completely backwards.

A lot of BCIT and external students are working full-time, supporting families, commuting long distances, doing shift-work, and therefore have busy schedules.

Not everyone can take random weekdays off just to write exams.

Weekend invigilation made education realistically accessible for a lot of people. Removing it creates a huge barrier for working students trying to improve their lives.

Has anyone else been affected by this?

What are some signs someone is carrying unhealthy attitudes regarding women they don’t fully notice yet, and what does improving that actually look like in practice?

An observation.

This town seems to have an interesting relationship with inexperience. Everyone supports “hardworking young people” in theory, right up until an L/N driver hesitates for half a second at a left turn or a high school graduate doesn’t already have 3 years of experience and 5 references for an $18–$20/hr warehouse job.

Then everyone wonders why young people are anxious, leave town, or stop trying altogether. Strange way to develop both confident drivers and competent workers.
