Just joined the sub! Nice to meet everyone. Caught these today using a black 7 gram Joe's Flies lure and a black and red Rebel craw crankbait.
Does anyone have any good small stream trout BFS and/or ultralight fishing-bass/multi species bfs YouTube channel recommendations? I like some of the stuff on FishmanTv and Enjoy Fishing Channel (they haven't posted anything new in a bit tho). Also a big fan of Creek Fishing Adventures and NDYakAngler. I'm really interested in channels with great precision casting with an emphasis on BFS setups and ultralight gear.
So I got a Histar Aurora Air on a 6'3" Kuying Teton ultralight rod. I went out and got 6 lb Sufix 832 and I'm trying to use 4 lb P-Line HP Trout line for a leader. Does it really make that much of a difference going braid to leader on a BFS setup or can you just use like 4 or 6 lb mono/copolymer/flouro just as easily?
18" smallie I caught in Kingsport TN a few days ago. Specifically at the confluence of the North and South Forks of the Holston River. I call that spot "The Point" and it's my favorite fishing hole anywhere. I started the catch on Ned Rigs I made using 3.8" light colored shad swimbaits I removed the paddle tails from and then moved on to some homemade spinner baits in light shad/bait fish designs.
