Hair System Before a Hair Transplant – Good Idea or Bad Idea?

Hey everyone! I’m thinking about getting a hair system (a wig) before I commit to a hair transplant. My plan is to do the transplant eventually, but I want to try the wig first to see how I’d look and feel. While wearing the wig during this time, I’m also considering treating my hair. I have a question—for those who used clip-on hair systems (attached on the sides)—did it affect your natural hair? Did you notice thinning or breakage? I really want to give it a go before the transplant, and I hope to use this time to care for my hair as well. I’d love to hear your honest experiences and advice. Thanks a lot!

Hair System vs. Hair Transplant? Need advice on my donor area, crown, and Turkey clinics

Hey everyone,
Im now 27 yo I’ve been stuck in a loop for months trying to figure out my next step, and I really need some honest, realistic advice based on my current situation (attached photos). I’m torn between getting a hair system (toupee) or going for a hair transplant.
I really want to go down the transplant route, but what’s holding me back and honestly making me hesitate is the \*\*crown area\*\*. I know the crown takes a massive amount of grafts and often has lower survival/density, but I still feel like there’s some hope. Maybe a transplant now, and I can back it up with \*\*SMP (Scalp Micro-Pigmentation)\*\* down the line to fill in the gaps?
\*\*Crucial info about my regime:\*\* I want to be 100% clear that \*\*I am NOT using, and I DO NOT plan to use Finasteride or topical/external Minoxidil\*\*, neither before nor after the transplant. I might only consider oral Minoxidil if absolutely necessary, but please evaluate my case based on the fact that I won't be on the standard Finasteride big-3 routine.
I’m planning to get it done in Turkey. I’ve looked into clinics . However, I am fully aware and firmly believe that a successful transplant depends entirely on the \*\*specific doctor/surgeon performing the procedure\*\*, NOT just the clinic's brand name or marketing.
Looking at my attached photos

  1. Given that I won't be taking Finasteride, do you think my donor area is strong enough to give decent, long-term coverage?
  2. Should I just skip the surgical route and go for a hair system instead?
  3. Any specific recommendations for doctors/clinics in Turkey that excel with crown restoration and managing donor hair carefully for patients who aren't on meds?
Would appreciate any insights, especially from anyone who went through a transplant without Finasteride!
    Thanks in advance. .
