Prepping for a pandemic

I’m not trying to be conspiratorial and that isn’t the purpose of this post. Reading through the lines it sounds like Russia is lying and obfuscating what happened to that lab worker in Siberia. I’m especially concerned since they have been involved in biowarfare and that lab specifically. They got the FSB (the predecessor to the KGB) has been involved enforcing quarantines and Russia has changed the narrative.

I’m not trying to spread fear porn. I just was completely blindsided when Covid happened and couldn’t get masks immediately in march of 2020. I don’t want to be in that place again if this is Covid 2.0.

My question for the group is this: what should I stockpile now for a potential pandemic? I’m mainly concerned with things that will likely be sold out at first. I already got a huge stockpile of n95 masks. I have to me mindful of my budget.

Sorry if this is basic. I’m just really spooked by the news out of Russia. I have a three year old so I’m trying to protect her.

Giving a talk at the state hospital about substance abuse

I’m schizoaffective and I’m happy to say I’m symptom free on five meds and weekly therapy.

My AA friend asked me to give a talk about substance abuse at the state hospital. I abused alcohol, marijuana and kratom for years.

Any advice for how to talk to them? I’m a little nervous. I don’t want to be triggering because my first psychosis involved me being convinced that I saw and spoke with a demon.

Is it safe to go to a state hospital? I have been to the psych ward twice but this seems totally different.

I feel like a shell of myself

I was manic for weeks. I felt euphoric and I was texting my husband 50 times a day at work. I felt like aliens were interested in me for my cognition and sense of things that cannot be seen and disclosure was imminent.

I work in sales and I’m having a bad month. I have spiraled into deep depression. I’m having an identity crisis. I am above average intelligence but I’m not a genius. I doubt the religion that I was raised in and I don’t know who I am. I don’t even have the intellectual energy to watch tv

Catholic perspective on mental illness

I’m really excited to learn more about about Catholicism. I’m meeting the priest on Friday and doing classes in the fall.

I wanted to understand the church’s perspective on mental illness. I have a psychotic disorder. At the worst I saw a demonic hallucination and I called on Christ and it went away. It was definitely in my head because medication and therapy helped.

I’m fortunate to be working with a Lutheran therapist so we talk a lot about faith. I’m just wondering the general Catholic views on secular therapy.

I’m also in AA. What do Catholics think about that? I realize it’s not exactly Christian but I have made Christ my higher power and I’m going on almost 2 years sober from alcohol and marijuana.

AA, therapy and psych meds have really helped me. I just want to know how Catholicism fits in. I really want to become Catholic.

I think I’m starting another episode

My journey started four years ago. For months I felt like invisible entities were watching me and aliens were downloading thoughts into my head. Then I had a full blown psychotic break. I thought I was communicating with a demon. I had a somatic hallucination where I felt like I was lifted off the ground and strangled. For months after that, I felt like god was inserting thoughts into my head, I was getting messages from the TV and I was ordained to fight interdimensional beings in the end times for Christ. I alarmed my psychiatrist when I told her I wasn’t afraid to die a matyr for god. (Now I’m a major hypochondriac and I’m afraid of dying)

I was hospitalized again two years later. I was struggling to take care of my baby (I think some of it was post partum psychosis). I felt the urgent need to stockpile goods for the apocalypse and I felt like demons were watching me constantly.

I was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder.

I have been doing real good for awhile. The psychiatrist actually reduced my dosages for one of my antipsychotics.

However I think mania is ramping up again. I became convinced I was dying of cancer with no evidence, I had the urgent need to book a vacation, I have texted my husband thirty times a day even though he told me to stop. Music sounds beautiful. At the same time I have neglected my hygiene. I went a week without showering.

I can’t shake this feeling that I’m on the aliens’ radar. I am extraordinary and have synesthesia. I am wired differently than other people. I see time on a map. I graduated with a 3.9 from a public ivy before my symptoms started and I have held demanding management jobs in tech with symptoms, which makes me think it’s really not that bad. I think i have extraordinary cognitive abilities.

On some level, i think it’s irrational to believe that aliens are interested in me, but it feels real because im so special.

Psychosis is hell. I have already talked to my therapist and psychiatrist, who is doubling the lithium. I’m on a work trip so I’m really scared it could escalate, and yes I have taken a shower.

Just a rant. I know it’s probably classic delusions of grandeur but I can’t shake this feeling that I’m on to something. It’s really not irrational to believe in aliens… the disclosure movement is mainstream now.
