exciting & fresh - but still acoustic - piano trios active right now?

i just got back from Brad Mehldau trio and it reminded me all over again of when i was much younger, how it felt for the first time to really dig deep into an artist that wasn’t one of the giants of the 50s and 60s. when i was a college student, Mehldau exploded what i thought jazz could sound like, since up until then, thanks to the local public library, i’d been hearing tons and tons of Miles, Trane, Bud, Monk, Duke, Ella, etc. (So grateful for that good foundation as well)

who’s working right now that makes you feel that way? i have been on a really huge kick of learning the great american songbook for the past two years, so i haven’t really sought out a ton of modern listens in a while, and now im feeling real hungry for it.

PS - i waited around for a bit after Brad’s show, i was just idling around chatting with friends, and spotted him at the bar signing people’s vinyls and chatting. Met him! Super nice and warm guy, just like he seems on the bandstand. really special moment for me after 12+ years of listening to him.

how often are you using K for self administered depression work?

I heard a bit about K from a friend who went the medical clinic route. I think she did several sessions that were spaced a week or two apart, and the research seems to show that these repeated sessions are really beneficial.

I just tried it for the first time last weekend and it gave me a lot of the classic psychedelic insights, but since I am in my thirties and already had quite a bit of psychedelic experience, it didn’t feel “life changing” or anything.

The nature of the experience was physically taxing a bit and also some negative/trauma stuff came up, so I’m not in an urgent hurry to repeat my self administered treatment, but I do plan to repeat it multiple times this spring/summer. Anyone have insight on repeated dosage for those who are specifically looking for spiritually inclined therapeutic work? (This is where I dislike the term ‘recreational’.)

Trying K for the first time soon. I’m so sorry, i’m sure all these questions have been answered before, but i do like hearing a bunch of different people’s opinions and personal experiences.

a few quick questions:

- Full/empty stomach pro/con? (i.e, how a lot of people get panicky from weed on an empty stomach, or how an empty stomach makes you roll much harder)

- Tolerance development? like if i want to try it one day and then share with a friend the day after?

- Interaction with weed? i smoke daily and have a high tolerance, and also when i was younger we would smoke weed constantly whenever we were trying all kinds of other stuff. so i’m planning to mix with weed just inadvertently, lol.

thanks and also any other random tips or advice is super appreciated
