Norms whole vibe during this interview is unlike almost any episode of Norm Macdonald Live.

Far less jokey, serious, straight forward with what he's saying all leading up to one moment

Right before they went to jokes Norm addresses Adam Egret on a ISIS killer permission slip he found in his dressing room.

Where he shared this same serious delivery and tone confronting Adam being a ISIS defender getting Margaret to join in on how it could be dangerous to have and promote that.

I feel like his whole mood and tone for the first half of the episode was just to set up this joke and for Margret to take it seriously and not laugh it off as some joke norm was pulling Wich it accomplished exactly that.

Overall one of the oddest episodes in my opinion with its own charm only Norm could achieve.
