If you are thinking of fixing then anything below 30p per kWh and 9.7p per kWh will be cheaper through what are typically the coldest months.

Interesting a heat pump with SCOP 3.5 will be cheaper than a gas boiler even on standard tariff.

Technically 32 days from 27th July to today, including today. I completed the 3 missions on 30 of the 32 days. Since starting the spreadsheet I have had a rule that I always have to complete the missions if able.

Costs don't account for if I already have airports unlocked - so a Sydney Auckland mission could range from over 100 coins to zero coins.

I am based in southern England which will affect the results - for instance today compared to an American it is cheaper to get the Doha-Delhi, but more expensive to get the PA24, as it does not fly in Europe very much.

To value the rewards I have used their value per item if bought in bulk - so for instance a Catch Anywhere is 130 coins at 5 for 650 coins.

Summary

I spent 2,263 coins (including value of some radar expanders & catch anywhere)

I received 1500 coins

I received 150 photos worth 300 coins

I received 30 items worth 2,053

My total profit was 1,590

Missions

Over the 32 days there were 54 unique missions. 30 of these missions were not repeated.

The most common missions were;

- Buenos Aires - Madrid (x5)

- Catch a Boeing (x5)

- Sydney - Auckland (x4)

- Catch an ATR (x4)

As it gets mentioned a lot here, Doha - Dehli made 3 appearances.

Rewards

I was surprised, I expected an even split getting around 6 of each. Instead I got;

- Radar Expander x9

- Catch Anywhere x7

- Camera Stabiliser x7

- Bluesky x 4

- Free Ticket x2

- Catch Again x 1

Costs & Profit

The mean cost of the missions was 73 coins. The Median Cost was 65.

The mean reward was 120 coins. The Median Reward was 80 coins.

I had 9 days where I lost out, and 22 days of profit.

The biggest one day profit was 193 coins on the 15th August, where I had zero costs.

The biggest one day loss was minus 95 coins on 28th July, where I spent 175 coins on Sydney Auckland, Buenos Aires Madrid, and 5 low cloud catches. The reward was a radar expander.

Caveat

I have used the book value of the rewards, as opposed to what you might think they are worth. As a consequence, the BlueSky is the most valued reward in the game. I welcome suggestions of how it should be valued, and can rerun the analysis using that value.

Looking out at my street of 2003 houses all of which perform much better in heat with windows and doors shut, I can see about 80% of them have every possible window open, letting the heat in.

It's honestly like opening your windows in mid winter to warm the house up.

Open them at night and use fans to vent the heat out. Close them during the day. The 'throw it all open' habit of the British is not suited to the modern climate.

Good time threatened in other words. Shame there isn't the power to ban solid fuel entirely in urban areas.
