It is alleged that this person planned to incite a pogrom in Norwich this week. Fucking hell.

Reminded all my friends and family to buy eclipse glasses last week. This was a mistake. They didn't buy them but now know I did and want to come over and borrow them...

The average adult man needs around 55g of protein a day. The average adult woman around 45g of protein a day. The UK average protein intake is 76g per day. It is simply not necessary for every single product, from chocolate to bread, to be shouting about how much protein it has.

Vegetable consumption - now there the average adult eats only around 60% of the recommended amount. Start there please.

PSA: Close your windows!

Looking out at my street of 2003 houses all of which perform much better in heat with windows and doors shut, I can see about 80% of them have every possible window open, letting the heat in.

It's honestly like opening your windows in mid winter to warm the house up.

Open them at night and use fans to vent the heat out. Close them during the day. The 'throw it all open' habit of the British is not suited to the modern climate.

Greens push on with wood burner curbs (despite only a third backing the move)

Good time threatened in other words. Shame there isn't the power to ban solid fuel entirely in urban areas.

Arriving at 10:15 to discover the shop does 10:30 to 4:30 Sunday hours, so spending 15 minutes with a crowd outside waiting for opening like some kind of Pets At Home superfan.

I used to be cool....

White has made a bit of a blunder...feeling pleased I spotted it in a 3 minute game ans went on to win (as black).

House has had windows and doors shut all day, with south facing curtains closed. Living room currently 5 degrees cooler than outside.

Pop on the air con in the bedroom around 8 to dump that little bit of excess heat before bed time, should sleep snug as a bug in a rug.

There was a misjudgement of a multistory car park turning leading to a furious argument between the rear bumper and a crash barrier, in which the bumper lost. Think this would fail an MOT so any suggestions?

2026 County election including vote shares

First Past the Post causes a lot of distortion. For all the noise a few things to remember;

  1. Reform only got 31% of the vote.

  2. Conservatives wouldn't need a vast swing back from Reform to be back as a major player at a county level

  3. Greens, Lib Dems and fascist GYF have very concentrated power bases but less popular than tories at county level.

  4. We need electoral reform

  5. Someone needs to fill out the same table for the city election - please don't make me pass to the dark side and become a wikipedia contributor.
