I am in the US and looking to purchase one for my journals and planner. They are not widely available and I am trying to decide between the 3 clip and 4 clip. Anyone have experience with these and can you provide some feedback? Which did you choose and why?
Looking for a nice leather cover for my A5 notebooks and fountain pens. I have been using Midori MD and Life Noble notebooks mostly. I am currently using a Kokuyo Systemic Cover Notebook. I have a Midor MD on one side and an rhodia pad on the other. I am thinking about upgrading to a nice leather one. I do not use A5 slim. Can anyone provide feedback on PR or are there better options?
I ordered a Kaweco Brass Sport Rollerball because I like the fountain pen so much. I ordered it because I saw that people were able to use modified gel refills in them. I typically have been using Refill EnerGel LRN5 refills in a Lamy Safari Rollerball. Are there any other gel refills I should consider that also offer water resistance? Prefer smooth, consistent, 0.5mm. Sometimes use 0.7mm for drawing.
I mostly use a fountain pen but there are times where a ballpoint is needed or more convenient. I really like Pilot G2, Energel, Sharpie 0.5mm gel pens but not crazy about the pen bodies. What are some decent options for pens that will accept these refills but feel like a quality pen? I have been using a Lamy Safari Rollerball body and a spacer but I am looking for something different. Maybe metal? Any suggestions?
As I have gotten back into the hobby, I am personally experiencing severe diminishing returns on expensive pens. I have had some expensive disappointments which I have chalked up to the cost of learning. Moving forward, I am going to focus on more budget friendly options. I have been extremely pleased with my Pilot Kakuno, Metro, Prera, TWSBI, and the biggest surprise was how smooth my Jinhao 10 is.
What are your favorite pens under $60?
I have been reading philosophy, religions and physics books for many years now while neglecting fictional books. I am looking for something that has a great story that will pull me in and not want to put it down. I am open regarding genre. Any suggestions?
In your experience, which budget fountain pens come closest to the premium fountain pen writing experience?
[WTS] [CONUS] Kaweco Student Fountain Pen - 70's Soul Fountain Pen Fine Nib
This pen was used for two fills. It comes with an unused cartridge and I purchased a Kaweco gold converter for it for an additional $13. Reducing my collection. It writes like a fine/extra fine but I do not like the nib. It has too much feedback for me. I attached a writing sample of this pen with Diamine Oxblood. Luckily the nibs are relatively inexpensive and easy to change if you do not like it.

As I am getting back into fountain pens, in my experience, I am finding severe diminishing returns. I have had Kakunos write better than some expensive Nakayas, Platinums, Saillors, Conway Stewarts and others. There are some great ones as well, but I am not interested in taking the risk anymore. I know others find joy in certain pens regardless of price and that is great. I have a Custom 823 and it is great but I do not see myself purchasing any more pens over $100. For the budget minded collectors and users, what are your top five pens under $100?
I see a lot of hype and negatives regarding pens in all price ranges. In my experience there is definitely diminishing returns. So what are your top 5 in your collection regardless of price and which one do you find to be the best value for the budget conscious?
I have been journaling and note taking for quite some time. I recently started using fountain pens again and have been struggling to find the right A5 journal and I would like to find a nice A5 leather cover. I am about to finish a LT1917 and will start using a CLP Creations Author which uses 68 GSM TR paper. I have research leather covers and see a couple of popular options that may work. There is Paper Republic. It looks nice and I can put multiple notebooks in it but I have read that the sizing limits the notebooks it will accept. That combined with the price is cause for pause. The other I am looking at is the Galen Leather A5 Expansi Zip folio. This seems nice because it will accept many brands of A5 notebooks as well as pens, etc. The zip adds a layer of protection from anything falling out. Looks like it will hold one notebook only though. Anyone have one of these that can provide feedback? Or suggestions for something I am missing? Budget is $200 or less.
I currently have a Tomtok 7L Sling Backpack that I have used for the last 3 years. It is getting cramped and I can no longer zip it up. I am looking for something a little larger but not 20L large and high quality. I carry an iPad Pro, Grid it, notebook, cigar caddy, pens, etc. I would like as many pockets as possible. Any suggestions are appreciated.
I interested in learning more about Gnosticism. Something introductory would be perfect, ideally something that discusses the history as well as core ideas.
I see there are a lot of good resources in the sidebar, but I would like to limit it to one or two books to start so I am not overwhelmed. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Looking for notebook recommendations.
Currently finishing up my hardcover Moleskine and need to purchase another A5 notebook. I am thinking about trying a softcover but am okay with sticking with hardcover and I am not sure which notebooks to consider. Would prefer something I can easily obtain from Amazon and under $30 USD. Would like the following features but I am flexible. Also open to pen recommendations. Using Energel 0.5 at the moment and have been satisfied.
