Apothecary Biologis and Aggressors done. Really happy with how these turned out.
Vulkan He'stan is my last character before I finish up my vehicles. 2000 points here I come lol

I am eking closer to my first 2000 points and am very excited. Really proud of these dudes.
It's a mix of the Space marines from the Armageddon box and some stuff I thought was cool I had my eye on for a while I also tried to stick to flamers and meltas where possible too. I chose the Forgefathers Seekers detachment.
Vulkan He'stan - Warlord - (85) Leading the 10 Infernus Marines
Apothecary - (40) paired with Vulkan and the Infernus Marines
Infernus Squad x10 (180)
Adrax Agatone - (80) Leading the Bladeguard Veterans
Bladeguard Veteran Squad x3 - (80)
Chaplain with Jump Pack - (75) - Leading Vanguard Veterans with Jump Packs
Vanguard Veterans with Jump Packs x5 - (105)
Librarian - (70) - Leading the Hellblaster Squad
Hellblaster Squad x5 - (110)
Apothecary Biologis - (70) Leading the Aggressors
Aggressor Squad x3 - (80)
Techmarine -(55)
Ancient - (40)
Intercessor Squad x10 - (150)
Invader ATV - (60)
Ballistus Dreadnought - (150)
Brutalis Dreadnought - (150)
Land Raider Redeemer - (250)
Repulsor - (170)
I included the Ancient to cover the last 40 points but was thinking of removing it if any of the enhancements would benefit my units. I had the idea for Vulkan, Apothecary and the Infernus to ride in the Repulsor and I think I can get a couple of the other squads to fit in the Redeemer is my plan so far. Any feedback is appreciated and welcomed.
Even though I forgot some purity seals I like them a lot. I will probably go back and fix those seals before my first game next week. Next up will be Adrax to lead them.
Here's everything I have painted since starting on June 21st. I still have some stuff to build and paint but I have a very good start on my first army.
The bases will be done today at some point once my basing stuff gets here. Really excited I will have my first game in 2 weeks. I have wanted to play 40k since the 90's this is like a small dream for me. On to 2000 points next.
I think my most recent bases are looking better and better. Still have a lot of work to do. Now I don't have to go back and take minis off bases to get them 100% done lol
I decided to just try some stuff without looking up how to do it properly so I ended up doing an all over Nuln Oil wash to try and get a greasy grimy look. Like my guys have been seeing some serious action and haven't been able to get cleaned up in a while. I don't plan on redoing them I want them to be an example of my progress this time next year after I have more than 6 weeks of painting under my belt.
My wife surprised me with the Armageddon box a couple weeks ago but turns out my Space Marines half had one missing piece for a Vanguard Vet. I called the store and he told me to come by and see what he could do for me. Took him maybe 2 minutes and he came back out with the exact piece I needed free of charge. I ended up buying some paint to finish my lava bases. He also chatted me up quite a bit since I am new to the hobby and painting in general. He also offered to teach my wife and I how to play once we finish painting our armies. Overall great experience.
An Infernus Squad was my first box and next will be the Eradicators from the Armageddon box. Getting closer and closer to 500 and 1000 points so I can finally play.
Pretty proud of how my second set of dudes are coming along. Still have some small things to do but I just have the arms to finish and power packs to do and I will have 20 dudes done when you count my Infernus Squad.
Still have plenty to do to them but I am super proud of how they are looking. I think I need to thin the contrast paints for the barrels effect more. But any C&C is welcome.
So my wife has decided that she wants to paint an army of Orks. And we figured the Armageddon box would be the best fit for us since I am still building and painting my first army. I have an unopened Intercessor Squad I got to start on after my Infernus Squad is done and the store will let me return it since it's unopened. I plan on getting my dreadnought with this.
So my army would be:
2x Infernus Squad
2x Intercessor Squad
1x Vanguard Veterans with Jump Packs
1x Eradicator Squad with Heavy Bolters
1x Ancient
1x Captain
1x Chaplain with Jump Pack
1x Librarian
1x Land Speeder
1x Brutalis or Ballistus Dreadnought
In the Warhammer app this is exactly 1000 points but I think maybe taking one Intercessor Squad out to add some enhancements would be a decent idea since there is an Immolator one. I have never played before but this is likely going to be my first 1000 point army once I do play, would this army at least be functional for Salamanders? No idea which characters would go with which units yet though.
Edit: I guess the better question might have been. What are your guys thoughts on this army?
Edit 2: This is going to be my army my wife is coming home with the Armageddon box lol
I am still painting my very first box of units and had some questions about future units I want to add in my first 1000 points army.
Would it be acceptable for me to run these Saturnine units as proxies for a Captain in Terminator Armor, Standard Terminator Squad and a Brutalis or Redemptor Dreadnought. Sorry for the possible silly question I just want to try and get my first army planned and will hold off on getting these units till later if not legal to run.
So as the title states these are the very first models of any kind I have ever put together or painted ever. I posted nearly 2 weeks ago when I first got all my stuff. But I have only very recently become physically able to do anything like this with my hands. I had had partial paralysis in both arms/hands since I was a kid. Surgeries finally took care of most of the issues. I did have to take frequent breaks but I managed. I am super excited. They turned out better than I expected but I also have tons more to learn so I can be as good as some of the pics I see on here. Sorry for all the text and rambling. Just a super excited 43 year old dude finally getting to live out a childhood dream.
Hi there everyone. I just got started building and painting minis finally and am going to a hobby/game store tomorrow for the first time in like 20 years as well and would like to purchase another box to work on after I finish my Infernus Squad.
I have been trying to research as much as I can so I think I have some options and would like opinions or suggestions. I am saving any heroes, dreadnoughts and other vehicles till I have more practice so I was looking to get one of the following:
1 Primaris Intercessors or Jump Pack Intercessors box
1 Company Heroes box
1 BladeGuard Veterans box
1 Infiltrator Squad box (I really like the looks of the Librarian in Phobos armor and these would go with them I am pretty sure)
1 Terminator Assault Squad box (these guys would go with a Chaplain in Terminator Armor)
This is just what I came up with during my research and any suggestions are welcome.
I bought Civ 7 from Fanatical when it first came out but my old pc just couldn't play it and had to refund it. Fanatical was speedy about the refund and the game was removed from my account. I built a new pc in December and went to check out Civ 7 again with the update in May and pick it up if it was on sale. But it's showing as being back in my account. Fully installable and playable. I checked with Fanatical and everything there says it's still removed and refunded. Should I contact Steam support to check and see what the issue is or should I just enjoy my free game and not worry about it? Note I was not trying to repurchase it from Fanatical but from Steam this time.
I just use the recipe from the Philadelphia website. I have finally managed to get them to stop cracking in the middle so this is a win for me.
