The Ohtani vs. PCA Conversation
The conversation around PCA and Ohtani is bordering on comical.
Let me preface this by saying I think PCA is an incredible player who deserves all the love he receives from the fans.
This is where the narrative starts to become funny to me. The fact that Ohtani’s only playing offense right now (even though it’s also fucking hilarious and dumb that some clowns are discounting Ohtani’s INSANE pitching stats from earlier this season), whereas PCA is killing it on both offense and defense, will almost certainly win him the MVP. Barring any late-season surge by Ohtani and a PCA slump (which is very possible), PCA will win it, and deservedly so.
But this is the hilarious part… the people calling PCA the best player in all of baseball. 🤣🤣🤣
Those people need to settle down a bit. Both players’ offensive stats are almost identical, yet PCA is having a career year and Ohtani is having a “down” year. Think about that for a second. PCA’s career year is a down year for Ohtani.
That alone confirms Ohtani’s greatness over everybody, including PCA.
