Question to experienced sprinters... Do you experience workouts where you feel like your speed is just in 95% of your potential, even after good amount of recovery after last session?

I'm new to sprinting and I just had this kind of workout. I didn't measure my sprints so I have no objective evidence, but I just felt like I'm on 95% not 100% of my power. I completed my workout tho. Was that workout still productive?

Sleep and sprint workout

I'm trying to answer to a question if it's good or vad idea to do a sprint workout with my current sleep.

So from monday to friday I slept average of around 6.5-7h. Last night I slept 6.5-7h hours too and I would like to do my planned workout, but I've heard sleep is really important.

How do you know if it's fine to do a workout today in the evening and it will be a good quality stimulus for my body? Are there any tests or something?

I have an option to do a workout tomorrow and I will probably sleep 8 hours. I'm just hyoed up for today's workout in the evening after a long week at work.

What are biggest but not obvious mistakes in Sprint training programs that you notice?

You can also tell if soecific mistake refers to specific sprint distance for example 400m endurance training or for speed training in general, plyometrics, weight room etc.

Could my adductor be a bigger problem?

So I'm a begineer and I was doing sprint workout 4x10m 3x20m 1x30m

During third 10m I felt some tension in left adductor. I decided to go on coz it was really soft. After first 20m it was a bit more intense. Not a pain but tension. So I stopped workout and went home.

A hour after workout I still feel a bit tension in aductor when I walk, sit, get up. I feel it much more when I activate adductor for example by lifting my leg up when I'm laying on bed to the point it gets a bit uncomfortable, but wouldn't say it's pain yet. When I just stay and don't move, adductor is quiet.

What does it sounds like to you?

EDIT: The next day it's fine

How do you know if it's better to stay with 2x sessions per week, and when 3x per week can benefit you more? Looking for tips from more experienced sprinters, especially self coached.

I'm a begineer and currently doing 2x per week woth quite low volume - 120-150m total of maximal sprints per session. I'm feeling quite okay like this. When and how do I make a decision about increasing frequency of my workouts?

Why do people specialize in 200/400m instead of just 100m?

Is it because they see their speed potential is not that good so they need to do something more endurance based to compete on higher level?

Sorry I'm new to sprinting and I'm curious because for me, I would still stay with 100m coz I like pure speed.

EDIT: I'm not saying long sprinters are slow and I didn't mean to offend anyone.

From my video analysis, first 10m was ~2.09s. Whole 20m was ~3.41s. No reaction time. Is there anything you could tell me to help me improve my acceleration when you know my time and see the video? (Begineer). I'm not trying to predict my 100m time or compare myself to anyone.

Rarity of sub 11s and difference between 🇺🇸 and other countries.

Sometimes I see people online say sub11 is HS time or I see that teenagers run sub 11s.

But for me who starts at 13.0s, sub11 sounds like really ambitious long term goal that I will MAYBE achieve (optional) if I do the right things for years and not get injured.

In my country 🇵🇱 in 2025 only 130 men broke 11s out of 20 million men. Which makes sub 11 look really rare, even for sprinters who actually train. I have no data about how many men ran sub 11 in the US tho.

Please give advice on my mechanics. Begineer sprinter.

Apologies for cutting off my legs at first few steps.

Should I stay relaxed during first steps? If so, how to do it while still producing maximal performance?

And what would be your advice for a begineer 12.5-13s.

I'm new to sprinting and do this exercise. Could I get some feedback on my technique? Does it look correct, and is there anything else you notice?

Why I don't feel hamstring when doing 100% 10-20m ACC, but when I run 60-70% upright build up sprints I do feel hamstring knee level?

Begineer. Haven't ran max velocity yet, just ACC and build ups.
