Race shoes for a wide toe box runner
Hey friends,
I did a little search and didn't find the answers I was looking for so I thought I'd ask this question.
Long story short, I'm not a wide shoe guy, my foot is pretty narrow except for my forefoot. It goes against most conventional answers of "just get a wider shoe".
My go to shoe is the Topo Specter line for road running. That brand as a whole kinda nails it for me and my foot shape.
I'm really working hard for a BQ in the fall and decided it was time to look into supers. In general, I think I can be okay with a shoe that has a somewhat roomier toebox even if it's not the duck feet I'm used to.
One brand I'm pretty sure I don't want to try is Saucony because I had one of the endorphin trainers and the squeeze around my toes was so bad that it was giving me shin splints. Unless they've changed something recently that brand is avoidable for me.
If it matters I'm 10.5 male.
Would anyone have any recommendations on which shoe(s) I should be looking at?
Thanks.
