Maybe Unpopular: As an Australian, I can't bring myself to watch the Australia episode

From the "Australian celebrity" actually being from New Zealand, the Sydney-centric focus, the (not-so) borderline offensive depiction of Aboriginal Australians, to the nonsensical geography, I skip this episode every single rewatch (apart from that time I showed it to my fiancé and cringed the entire time).

I know it's a sitcom and not that deep, I just can't keep this to myself anymore haha

Edit: I see people have taken this a bit more seriously than I expected! I know it’s an American sitcom and I shouldn’t take it seriously, and honestly, I don’t take it seriously, skip the episode and move on with my life. I just hoped to add a bit of context.

I really do love this show! It’s one I watch on repeat and I’m sure we all have a lot of stuff we could say about it!

Need help identifying/finding out more about a Lemsip branded scarf

Like many, I have gotten very very into the World Cup this year and scored an Aus themed scarf at an op shop this afternoon but can’t find anything about it. While it’s green and gold and has a kangaroo, the tag is branded as “Lemsip” which is obviously a cold/flu medication.

Does anyone remember a promotion where Lemsip gave out free scarves?? Google has so far been no help (and the ai summary has only told me that lemsip and scarves are two different things but both are a great way to feel better when you have a cold 🙄)

In this save, the Goths have been living in sin

I also can't get over the image of Mortimer asking his grown up son for his blessing to marry his mother 💀

Songs you thought would have no ‘staying power’ but you were proved wrong?

Can’t Stop the Feeling - Justin Timberlake
When this song was released in 2016 as part of the soundtrack of a kid’s movie, I immediately found it gratingly banal and poptimistic that i knew it would disappear very quickly and be soon forgotten.

10 years later I have (sadly imo) been proven very very wrong every time I go to the supermarket, turn on the radio, or watch TV.

I want to know if there are songs that you are happy have stuck around in the public consciousness or songs you wish (like me) had been banished to the annals of history!

What was a show you were pleasantly surprised by?

Inspired by a recent thread on shows people wanted to like but didn’t, I wanted to ask the community about shows they were pleasantly surprised by. This could either mean a show they went into expecting not to enjoy or not knowing.

For me, this show was Be More Chill. One of my local amateur theatre companies put this show on and I went into it expecting an overly emotional and angsty teen musical with a contemporary score where all the songs sound kind of the same but was happy to be proven wrong! The score was quirky and fun but dramatic when it needed to be and I thought the book found a good balance between absurdist, edgy humour and genuine heartfelt emotion.
