Free People's customer service seems like it came straight out of hell

Free People's customer service is a joke. I received a large "Very Berry" bag with paint issues—the finish isn't uniform, and there are stains and spots where the color is lighter than elsewhere. I contacted Free People, and they offered me a 20% discount if I kept the bag, so I agreed. Days went by without a reply to my email, and now they’ve responded saying they can't apply the 20% discount because I used my 15% birthday code for the purchase. Customer service is literally contradicting itself; they are unprofessional. I know Free People bags are never perfect, but the "Very Berry" bags have glaring defects.

What is Glossier's customer service like in Los Angeles?

I’m visiting from Florida and plan to buy six keychains featuring that famous cell phone design they have, but I’m not sure how accommodating their customer service would be regarding this request; I live very far away, and there’s really no other way for me to get them. I’d also like to ask for a bag for each cell phone charm.

What is your opinion on the customer service of certain beauty brands?

I’m practically a regular customer of Gisou, mainly because of their customer service; they are incredibly friendly and always listen to their customers. I’ve started ordering directly from Rare Beauty, and honestly, their customer service is useless—they don’t listen to customers at all.

Is it believable for a seller to cancel your purchase a day later with the excuse that they accidentally sent the product you bought to another customer?

I bought something on Mercari, but the seller cancelled the order the next day, saying they were very sorry but had accidentally shipped the item to another customer along with a different product, and that they would try to get it back to sell to me.

What do you think about the new Beis collaboration with Disney?

Honestly, I thought the blue denim cosmetic bags were lovely, elegant, and timeless. They were my favorites; I kept one of each size, and I also bought the tote bag—it’ll be perfect for trips to Disney with my kids, as I can use it as a diaper bag and carry my water bottle in it.

People are cannibalizing their own sales with the Free People Peony bag.

Less than a month ago, everyone was dying to get their hands on the Free People "Peony" bag at any cost; I even saw someone selling it for close to $1,000. In the last month , Free People restocked the Peony bag in a big way, and now Mercari and Vinted are flooded with resellers cannibalizing each other in a race to sell theirs first—you can even find it on the resale market for $270 now. It’s funny to see desperate resellers competing against one another to offload their stock. I wonder how the people who paid over $800 for that same bag a couple of months ago must feel. The thing is, these resellers paid nearly $200 to acquire the Peony bag, so their profit is only $50; I don't think they realize that Free People will eventually stop restocking it, and by December, none of them will have anything left to sell 🤣. I’m not a fan of exorbitant prices, but watching desperate people trying to recoup their money is entertaining.

Is the Beis brand and its makeup bags really worth paying inflated prices for?

I’m interested in the beige Rare Beauty collaboration makeup bag, but sellers literally won't go below $450 for something that originally cost only $74.
