I have a group of friends. We’ve been hanging out since 2022-2023. We’ve gone on night outs, small trips, all the NYEs since we met.

We all follow each other on Instagram, and basically met through one person who introduced everyone. The group consists of this person’s school friends, college friends, and me—who was introduced to everyone in 2022 December.

Now the thing I find odd is, all the other friends and friend groups I’ve had before, have been big on hyping each other up. Not in an OTT way, but definitely more than an acknowledgement.

All the years I’ve known this group, they have never hyped me up or really congratulated me even once, regardless of what I’ve done. I appear in major magazines often, also get to speak to major figures. They always see my stories. Nobody from this group apart from maybe two out of 16 people, have really even batted an eye. And the crazy thing is, I know they follow and admire the people I’m talking about.

The only time they collectively acknowledged it was at breakfast once, to say “you live a very good life.” But I’m not sure where it was coming from, also, there was no curiosity attached to it. This reaction is based off my socials.

Is this normal? We’re in our mid-20s and it’s a mix of girls and boys.
