Help me name this Eldritch Horror.
Reminds me of Ba'al's inbred cousin Ba'll.
Looks like a warthog rat king.

Just got let go 1 hour into my shift. So glad I don't have to make that custom cover book!!! I wasn't expecting it and honestly it feels so good to know I don't have to deal with the massive dumps of bullshit and horseshit.
Gonna start pumping out apps tomorrow morning. So excited to start a new chapter in life. A little nervous, but honestly this is the most resolve I've ever felt in my life. Very confident things will turn out to be a net positive!
I came in on my day off bc I don't have the best social abilities and heading into the store really makes a difference to my wellbeing. My coworkers and a lot of customers really make a difference.
Today was my first day off from my two jobs in like 3 months. I roll in to work to see our new hire and ask how things are. First thing I hear is "I thought i told you you aren't welcomed back." In this aggy tone. Sm literally just wanted to make me feel unwelcomed for the fun of it.
Immediately killed any positive mood I had. I've got pretty gnarly PTSD and it just sent me right back into my "lower frequencies". Been in bed all day with gnarly flashbacks and just tired of it all.
Why do people say mean/rude shit for fun. I get it if it's a kid, but a middle aged store manager should probably be a bit more dignified.
I told dude what's good, basically that shit like that affects my wellness and performance. But it just sucks to have to get hit with shit feelings over absolutely nothing when I'm just trying to take steps to improve my health & sense of belonging in my community.
I can't take people sometimes. I'm just tryna recover from a tough death in our family and it's like the recklessness antics of others are present enough to keep kicking me down.
Gonna try and use up some PTO soon so I can hopefully get myself back to baseline.
SM and I were chatting about how some of these custys roll up to the register looking viscerally aggressive/irritated with us. Like to the point that you feel that shit in your soul?
I always try to remember we don't know what someone is going through-- but also... Fuuuuuck please don't look at me like you'd spit in my mouth and punch me in the liver the minute I go to speak.
Also like what's with the tone?
Anywho, yeah, just wondering about other people's experiences with these kinds of left field interactions.
The leads were talking about this today. Does anyone know the answer. I didn't have time to do any of the searching I usually do, hoping someone can just school me up. I'm just a CSA, I don't NEED to know. Just curious.
Genuinely curious how it's going.
I'm consistently finding things outdated anywhere from a month to over a year. Dude tweaks over scan outs and osa but does not seem to place the same stress on outdates.

At this point do I just continue to advocate for in date stock AND reach out to the health department? I can't keep being the only one intervening with these situations (which is currently the case & I'm just a cashie).

I found narcan that expired in May (only one on the shelf lol) and then 20 dip tins that are past best by date by over a year. Same goes for the freezer. Found pizzas that were done in April. I don't know what the back end looks like but I'm kinda afraid to take a look. Last time I had to intervene in cold - cough and vitamins--- I found maybe 500 products. That was under bad mgmt, but still things are what I see as unacceptable for a multi-billion dollar national company. If you can give us lottery you can get the expired narcan off the shelves in time.
Landlord decided to redo the parking lot. The fumes gave me a headache just from 1 minute waiting by our front door

I called our manager. He's on it now. It's Sunday so just me and a shift lead. I'm waiting off site until it's confirmed that it's safe to enter or that it is safe to go home.

Let's chat while I wait.
No shot my Muslim self will be working anywhere near that. I guess I'll take that pharmacy tech job.

I would rather go spend eternity in actual hell than participate in lottery transactions.

Honestly, I don't think my store is gonna be able to take it. Our current staff aren't capable of adding ANOTHER task to their workload. It's something I could pull off during peak season just because I'm fit & motivated enough, but my coworkers are going to be run through the ground with the amount of work that's being saddled on them. If this was me even one year ago, there is no shot I'm pulling off this big of a workload. This Christmas I literally walked through the bottoms of my feet. It didn't heal for 4 months.

So yeah, please pray for us, this is not going to be pretty.

And I guess I ought to inform my SM that I will in fact be applying for/accepting that position in the pharmacy.

Only thing is-- I'm promising myself to apply to new jobs on my days off. Once I'm back there full time, I'm pretty confident I'd be a good candidate for a better paying company. Where I'm at, it's just not feasible to live off of the income a tech makes at wags as a single person. Fortunately, there's pharmacy galore where I live.

Anywho-- please pray for us, please hold us close to your hearts. We are struggling to fill positions (shift lead & cashier) and with all this change, this may just be what collectively burns the front end out. I'm fortunate enough that I can seek refuge behind the bench, but my other coworkers dont have the same career mobility. If you guys have any advice that I could share with my teammates, I would so greatly appreciate it.
This place is a message... and part of a system of messages... pay attention to it!

Sending this message was important to us. We considered ourselves to be a powerful culture.

This place is not a place of honor... no highly esteemed deed is commemorated here... nothing valued is here.

What is here was dangerous and repulsive to us. This message is a warning about danger.

The danger is in a particular location... it increases towards a center... the center of danger is here... of a particular size and shape, and below us.

The danger is still present, in your time, as it was in ours.

The danger is to the body, and it can kill.

The form of the danger is an emanation of energy.

The danger is unleashed only if you substantially disturb this place physically. This place is best shunned and left uninhabited.

We have a customer who has made a dozen vulgar and disparaging comments about the following demographics: poors, gays, women, blacks, Jews, Italians, and New Yorkers (is being from the bronx is a protected class?). This has happened over several occasions. My manager previously told me that customers have free speech. I of course asked about a customer conduct policy, to which he told me there was none. I finally found the policy the other day and not a day later, the aforementioned customer comes in.
On this day.
I was proactively discussing the Heat Illness Prevention Plan (HIPP) with the shift lead/MOD and during this discussion she couldn't hear me clearly over these little exhaust fans for one of our cabinets. When I repeated myself, the customer made some sort of disparaging comment about how she should pay attention or something blindingly ignorant.
I asked him if he would be able to keep his comments to himself. He gets uppity and goes "oh I didn't know you're in one of your moods today". I have only told him one time that I would appreciate it if we could keep the conversation to business stuff. I told him I'm more than happy to help you with anything in the store, but I do not want to be having conversations about anything not pertaining to the business and my job and your needs in the store. He saw that as "one of my moods" which just means I wasn't going to placate his racism and hate no matter how much he spends there. This happening would also be "one of my moods" which was more than acceptable professional behavior. It was just that I set a hard boundary about disparaging comments and lil bro didn't like it.
Anyways-- the dude's behaviors and comments stem from a couple explainable but not excusable things. Im just curious as to how accommodating the ban process is, and if the consensus is that these are ban worthy activities. The person is a regular who spends a considerable amount of money with us, so I wouldn't be opposed to a conversation with them about future conduct, but I just cannot handle the near daily nonsense from him. It's emotionally draining.
What do. :/
Was doing some photos when I realized... Today is 6-7
Shit gets old. I kinda need some wisdom to help me cope. Understanding things usually brings me peace of mind.
It's across the board, like 80% of the attitude/disrespect/entitlement I receive at work is from women. Same goes for not reading. I swear, so often it's a woman and I have to walk her through the shit step by step. Same goes for not acknowledging me when I greet them. I'm nearly always reflected back a greeting by the men, but the women treat me like I literally do not exist sometimes.
For context, I give really good customer service, and am extremely patient, soft spoken. Only intimidating thing about me is I'm 6'5" and have a beard, but other than that, I am extremely approachable, and by no other means am a "large" man. I weigh 165 for fucks sake. My dad was a pool stick and my mom, a slightly taller pool stick. I even position myself so I'm enough distance that I am not intimidating someone.
Anywho, there's very rarely a reason to get the attitude/impatience in most of the situations. I'm very accommodating to the majority of stuff, it's just when they want something that either doesn't exist or whatever, you know-- it's like no Im not packing your FedEx package for you that in the directions says it needs to come to me prepackaged/labeled. Its even on signs right behind my head and on a sign in front of me. And the info is available online. The fuck you giving me an attitude for??? Read dumbfuck.
AND THIS RANDOM FROM CORPORATE TRIED TO TELL MY COWORKER THAT SHE COULDNT USE THE BATHROOM?????!!! Ain't introduced herself, just yelled "WE NEED THE ROOM". I went back there and p much just went to the bathroom and walked thru their pussy ass meeting and she snapped at me too saying "WE NEED THE ROOM". I didn't even acknowledge her, just said "I'm going to the bathroom..." And then walked thru the group and her morbidly obese ass has the audacity to comment "oh wow you're so tall, how tall are you". Like nah, we are not doing this, bc I'm gonna ask you the same thing but horizontally. "What's your dimensions? You tell me first!" Is what I wish I said.
Anyone and everyone, I want to be able to focus on giving the most thorough service when I am in the pharmacy. The only thing I'm finding SOME difficulty with is handling customers that are aggressive/passive aggressive/inpatient/entitled. I can handle the nonsense when it's sporadic, but the quality of my work takes a toll when it's been an "all day" abuse kinda thing.
What are your go to phrases/tricks that you use to reign in the customer's attitude.
Thank you in advance
