Garmin Epix Pro (standard)

Hi guys, I’m a bit confused here and need a little help.

I made a course and ran it yesterday but only had breadcrumbs.

I was a little surprised and thought there must be an error, as my previous Epix (not pro) had maps.

It’s not a huge deal breaker, but I was expecting them there.

With that said, a few googles and Reddit posts lead me to believe that they can be installed (for free) but aren’t included out the box.

I could not download them via the watch, so reached out to Garmin support. They say I must pay a subscription fee.

Can anyone shed some light on this? I’m in the UK if that makes any difference.

3rd day back at it! [38YO]

Last weekend I decided I’d get my old board out and go for a skate and it was great! However, the bearings were shot and it was so noisy to skate.

Pretty cool being an adult, so I bought a new setup and took it out yesterday for its maiden voyage.

Film trucks
Cliché deck 8.25”
Ricta wheels
Mini logo bearings

Had to change the bushes in the trucks to some independent hard. The mediums in the film trucks made it so difficult to ride, so I’m glad I swapped them out.

Balance seems to be my main issue, as well as being terrified of hanging up on the coping 😂

38 - new setup

Hi everyone, none of my now older friends are all that interested that I’ve decided to start skating again, so I thought I’d share it here.

Like a lot of guys, I skated back in the early 2000s before life got in the way.

I did buy a setup 6 years ago, but bringing that back out today made me realise that it was shot. Bearings making a hell of a racket, with the wheels vibrating and the trucks squeaking.

I also realise that UK skate parks have changed! The concrete is so smooth and the kids on the scooters are like ants.

Anyway, I’ve gone for this setup to get back into things. I spent so long, almost to the point of analysis paralysis trying to choose the right things without blowing the budget.

So many brands are no longer a thing, wildly expensive, or bought out by other companies, it’s a real minefield.

I landed a kickflip today and promptly fell on my arse. So I’m looking forward to building this and getting some real early morning sessions in at the weekends.
