Judge my American Accent

I’m aiming for a standard American accent. I’ve always struggled with three things: the American R sound, lowering my voice placement, and intonation. However, I’d love to hear what native speakers think I need to improve on besides what I've mentioned.

Is anyone here enrolled in the MSc in Future Power Networks?

I’m starting the MSc in Future Power Networks this September and would really benefit from hearing from current students, especially those who are close to graduating. I have a couple of questions, so please DM me if you’re willing to help. I’d really appreciate it!

Can I maintain less upper-eyelid show, or is filler my only option?

I don't understand why my eye shape changes throughout the day. The top image is from when I wake up in the morning, and the bottom image is from the end of the day. Is there any way to maintain less upper-eyelid show, or is getting filler my only option?

Pursuing a master’s at Imperial vs. North America in Electrical Engineering

I have an offer from Imperial for the MSc in Future Power Networks, as well as offers from Texas A&M for an MSc in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on Energy and Power, and from the University of British Columbia for a similar program.

I’m torn between studying in the UK and studying in North America, and I’d really appreciate your advice.

I’m on a fully funded bonded scholarship, so money isn’t the issue.

The issue is time. I’m getting older, and I want to finish my master’s and PhD asap. If I go to Imperial, I’d finish my master’s at 27y/o, as opposed to 29y/o in North America.

The scholarship committee advised me to study in North America because of the better research facilities, mentorship, and overall preparation for research.

How accurate is that claim? That’s the critical point.

Given that the Imperial program is a taught master’s, would that put me at a disadvantage when applying for or pursuing a PhD?

I don’t want to end up in a situation where the time I save upfront in the UK gets offset later because weaker research preparation slows down my PhD progress.

Any suggestions?

Posture correction clinics?

I spend most of my time studying at my desk. I've noticed that I'm starting to develop text neck. I'm worried I might end up with a herniated disc in my neck. Are there clinics that help with posture correction?
