Collecting sunrises!

Collecting sunrises!

Monday after a long weekend always hits differently. I didn’t even have a long weekend but am I hurting less? definitely not. I feel like it’s the one thing everyone hates. Perfectly democratic😂
so whether it’s class, work, job hunting or just wondering what’s next, we don’t have to figure it all out today. Let this just be one more day of small unimpressive actions that stack into life.
Ordinary days don’t seem like a big deal when we are living through them but they are what most people will miss once we don’t have them anymore.
An Atlantic ocean sunrise here for a change. Have a good one y’all!

Food and memories!

Okay Sunday morning(or whatever time it is for you) thought!
Food is always an amazing memory trigger. Adhukum beetrootkum enna sammandham na it is one of those memory triggers for me. I was in a boarding school in kindergarten. Hill station plenty of friends but I hated it. One fine day my dad showed up to bring me back home so I can join a day school. And the hostel caretaker fed me lunch with beetroot poriyal before I left. I had no clue it was one final adieu to that place. I was just 4 years old happy to see my dad during a school day. Somehow even now beetroota paatha I can almost feel that taste. Never been able to replicate that at home. This picture was from one time I tried and got really close.
What is the food that does that to you? happy or sad- just flooding you with the memory of that day or place or person.

Pastaaa!

Dinner might be pasta. The most un-Italian version of it. It would be unfair to call it pesto pasta. Hariyali chicken pasta nu vena sollikalam. It’s the spicy hot version. I grind up green chillies, coriander leaves, mint and italian basil leaves. Saute cut up chicken with this paste and salt, pepper. Once cooked add store bought pesto sauce (thats basically basil, pine nuts, olive oil and some cheese) and the cooked pasta. Stir and serve.

Book find- Don Ashok’s R. சோமசுந்தரத்தின் காதல் கதை

I am an omnivorous reader and I read everything that interests me.
I’d never heard of Don Ashok before but picking up this book on Kindle was my best decision for the day.
I don’t want to spoil it for anyone who wants to read but 5 stars from me for making me laugh so hard. Absolutely loved the humor. Probably not for people who are purists but for anyone who’s looking for a casual read it is great.

Birthday cakes!

When you lack planning and make the cake until the last minute you end up with no decent picture of it😂 this was from so long ago but every year the birthday cake is themed around something he loves. Still thinking about what this year’s should be🧐
