Bluetooth mic completely missing on Asus NUC 16 Pro (NUC16GDKX7 / X7 358H) - Win 11 fresh install

Hey everyone,

I’m running into a brick wall with a brand new ASUS NUC 16 Pro (Model: NUC16GDKX7) featuring the X7 358H processor.

After a fresh install of Windows 11 and installing all official drivers from the ASUS support site, any Bluetooth headphones I connect only work for audio output. The microphone is completely undetected by Windows ("No input devices found" in the Sound menu). The headphone model doesn't matter, the issue persists across different brands.

What I have already tried:

  • BIOS - Updated to the absolute latest version.
  • Reinstalled W11 from scratch multiple times - no change.
  • Tried disabling the Intel SST OED driver and rebooting to force a native Windows fallback - no change.
  • Ran the Intel Driver & Support Assistant to check for direct updates bypassing Asus. It says everything is up to date.

Has anyone else with a NUC 16 Pro run into this? Honestly, it's such a cool mini PC, it's incredibly fast, super quiet, and I absolutely love everything else about it. But this audio issue is so frustrating that I'm seriously considering returning it. It just feels crazy for a brand-new machine to be missing such basic functionality!

[JBL Tour One M3] are a game-changer if you have protruding/sticking-out ears!

Just wanted to share some appreciation for the Tour One M3 - easily among the best headphones I’ve owned. The sound is fantastic, they’re incredibly comfortable, and everything works flawlessly.

But the biggest selling point for me is something most reviewers completely overlook: the depth of the ear cups. I have protruding ears, and these are the first headphones I've ever owned where my ears don't constantly rub against the inside drivers. With literally every other pair of headphones, that constant contact caused a ton of discomfort and made my ears ache after an hour or two.

This is a massive win for ergonomics, and I felt it was worth mentioning for anyone else struggling to find the right fit. Huge shoutout to the engineers at JBL for this design choice, I'm incredibly grateful!

RUNNING TRAIN | 走ル列車!is now available on GFN (highly rated solo-dev train sim)

Great to see more and more high-quality games being added to GFN! It's a new (and beautiful) train simulator built entirely by a solo developer, the sim has received a really warm welcome from the train sim community, so if you're into the genre, definitely give it a try.

Pure enthusiast level detail: iniBuilds actually modeled the A350 engine drain mast vapor when switching to idle. Someone on their team knows their stuff!

After switching to FSR 3, SU5 runs much more smoothly (IniBuilds A350, ultra settings)

(Note: Reddit’s encoding definitely adds some choppiness, the raw footage looks much better)

I’ve been seeing similar reports over on the MSFS forums, and after testing it myself, the difference is night and day, at least after a couple of flights. So if you’re running an Nvidia card and using DLSS Frame Generation, try switching to FSR 3 instead, if this fix works for a lot of people, it feels like something is definitely broken with DLSS frame gen in SU5.
